It will be seen that with the transportable ink feeding mechanism of the present invention a printing machine can readily be adapted to print some color other than that for which it is normally equipped and that such adaptation can easily and cheaply be eiiected.

What I claim is:
i. In an inking mechanism for printing machines having printing couples and ink supplying source therefor, a portable ink reservoir, and means operably interposed between the reservoir and a selected printing couple for forcibly supplying a film of ink to the selected'printing couple independently of the said ink supplying source.
2. In an inking mechanism for printing machines, a portable ink supplying unit including an ink reservoir, an ink rail, means for subjecting the ink reservoir to fluid pressure, ink pumps operably interposed between the reservoir and the ink rail, the ink rail being constructed and arranged to supply ink to the ink cylinder of a printing couple of the printing machine.

In an inking mechanism for printing machines, a portable ink supplying unit, including an ink reservoir, an ink rail, ink pumps operably interposed between the reservoir and the ink rail, flexible means interposed between a driven member of the printing machine and the ink pumps for driving the pumps, the ink rail being constructed and arranged to supply ink to the ink cylinder of a printing couple of the printing machine.

In an inking mechanism for printing machines, a portable ink supplying unit including an ink reservoir, an ink rail, ink pumps operably communicating with the ink rail, a conduit communicating the ink reservoir With'the ink pumps, means for driving the pumps from a driven member of the printing machine, means for subjecting the ink reservoir to fluid pressure, the ink rail being constructed and arranged to supply ink to a printing couple of the printing ma.- chine. In an inking mechanism for printing machines, a portable ink reservoir, portable means for subjecting the ink reservoir to fluid pressure, an ink rail, ink pumps operably'interposed between the reservoir and the ink rail, the ink rail being constructed and arranged to convey ink to the ink cylinder of a printing couple of the printing machine.
6. In an inking mechanism for printing machines having a source of ink supply, a portable ink reservoir, an ink rail, ink pumps, a conduit 7 7. In an inking mechanismfor use in printing machines having printing couples and ink supplying source therefor, a portable ink supplying unit including an ink reservoir independent of the said ink supplying source, an ink rail, ink pumps operably interposed between the reservoir and the ink rail, the ink rail being constructed and arranged to supply ink to the ink cylinder of a printing couple of the printing machine.

In an inking mechanism for use in printing machines having printing couples, ink supplying source and inking apparatus, a portable ink reservoir independent of the ink supplying source, an ink rail, ink pumps operably interposed between the reservoir and the ink rail, the ink rail being constructed and arranged to convey ink to an ink cylinder of the printing couple.
