Description
- The disclosure relates to urination assisting devices and more particularly pertains to a new urination assisting device for assisting a person in standing while urinating and for containing urine.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a post having a bottom end and a top end. A saddle is attached to the top end of the post. A grip is attached to the saddle opposite of the top end. A container includes a perimeter wall and an access opening. A cover is removably positioned on the access opening. The perimeter wall frictionally engages the saddle such that the container is removable from the saddle.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a front perspective view of a walking assist and urine receiving combination device according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a rear view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a rear perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new urination assisting device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , the walking assist and urine receivingcombination device 10 generally comprises apost 12 that has abottom end 14 and atop end 16. Thepost 12 may be conventional telescopic such that thepost 12 has an adjustable height. Generally thepost 12 will have a height between 2.5 feet and 4.0 feet. Afoot 18 may be attached to thebottom end 14 and be comprises of a friction enhancing material. Alternatively, thepost 12 may have abottom end 14 that terminates in a plurality of feet such as typically found with a walker type device. - A
saddle 20 is attached to thetop end 16 of thepost 12. Thesaddle 20 comprises abase 22 and a pair ofvertical members 24 that is attached to and extends upwardly from thebase 22. Agrip 26 is attached to thesaddle 20 opposite of thetop end 16. Thegrip 26 extends between thevertical members 24. Thegrip 26 andvertical members 24 together may form a closed loop. - A
container 28 is provided which includes aperimeter wall 30 and an access opening 32. Acover 34 is removably positioned on the access opening 32 and may be threadably or snappily coupled to thecontainer 28. Theperimeter wall 30 frictionally engages thesaddle 20 such that thecontainer 28 is removable from thesaddle 20. The access opening 32 is directed upwardly when thecontainer 28 is positioned within thesaddle 20. Generally, thecontainer 28 is angled downwardly and rearwardly from the access opening 32 to arear wall 38 of thecontainer 28. Ahandle 36 is attached to thecontainer 28. Thehandle 36 is positioned on anupper wall 40 of thecontainer 28. - In use, the
device 10 is used to assist someone while walking in a conventional manner of utilizing canes and walkers. When a user of thedevice 10 needs to urinate, they may do so by removing thecover 34, urinating through the access opening 32 and then closing the access opening 32. The user may hold onto thegrip 26 while urinating so that the user is stable while urinating. Thecontainer 28 may be removed as needed for dumping and cleaning. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
