The end I2 of the clamp II is provided with projecting ridges I8 and I9 which provide grooves on the inner side of the attachment wall for receiving ribs and 2| respectively on the clamp Il). It will'be seen that this arrangement firmly secures the attachment II to the end ofthe clamp I0.so that it is rigidly held in position on the clamp and forms, in effect,
an extension on the end of the clamp. The projecting portion I3 is provided with aseat of proper size and contour to support the reinforc-V ing rods I5 on the conductor III and permit the' conductor to continue from the end of the clamp I0 without deflection. The keeper 22 engages the upper rods- I4 and is provided with ears 23 which extend into pockets 24 in the side walls of the extension I3 so as to provide overlapping portions with the side walls to hold the rods I4 in position upon the cable I5 and to clamp the rods rmly in the support I3 and tightly about the conductor I5. The keeper 22 is held in place by U-bolts 25 having nuts 26 for clamping` the 4portion extending beyond said support along said conductor, and flexible reinforcing rods carried by said extending portion and engaging said conductor beyond said extending portion for minimizing the effects of vibration of said conductor.
- 2. The combination with a conductor and a support therefor having a seat portion for receiving said conductor, of an attachment for said support' having a seat portion, one end of which is rigidly clamped to said support in overlapping relation to the seat portion of said support and the other end of which extends beyond said support along said conductor, and reinforcing meansl an attachment for securing said reinforcing means to said conductor and to said support, said attachment being disposed in overlapping relation with said support and with said reinforcing means, and clamped to said support and to sai'd reinforcing means.
4. The combination with a conductor and a support therefor having a seat for said conductor, of reinforcing means for said conductor compris- -ing rods having the ends thereof disposed in abutting relation to the end of said support, and an attachment for securing said rods to said conductor and to said support, said attachment having one end thereof shaped to conform to the outer surface of said support and having an extension overlapping the ends of said reinforcing rods, and means for clamping said attachment to said support and to said reinforcing rods in overlapping relation to the adjacent ends of said support and reinforcing rods.
5. The combination with a conductor and a. support therefor having a seat for said conductor, said support having external projections adjacent the end thereof, of an attachment having a recess therein shaped to conform to the outer surface of said support and having depressions for receiving the projections on said support, and means for clamping said attachment to said support, said attachment having a portion thereof extending beyond the end of said support and provided with a seat for receiving reinforcing means disposed about the conductor.
6. The combination with a conductor and a support therefor having a seat for said conductor, of reinforcing rods disposed about said conductor and having the ends thereof disposed in abutting relation to the end of said support, and an attachment for securing said ends to said con' ductor and to saidsupport, said attachment comprising a trough shaped member forming a seat having one end thereof shaped to conform to the outer surface of the end of said support, and having the other end thereof'shaped to engage said rods, and clamping means for securing said attachment to said support and for securing said rods in said seat. 4
