Abstract
A brush includes a brush head which comprises a brush support, and a plurality of brushing members integrally provided on the brush support, wherein the brushing members and the brush support are integrally formed together by heat treatment.
Description
- 1. Field of Invention
- The present invention relates to a brush, and more particularly to a brush head and its producing device.
- 2. Description of Related Arts
- Conventionally, people use a wide variety of brushes for different purposes. For example, people may use toothbrush, broom, or make-up brush for their specific purposes. A conventional bush usually comprises a base, and a plurality of brushing members, wherein the base usually has a plurality of attachment holes for securely accommodating the brushing members. The disadvantage of this type of conventional brush is that when the brush has been used for an extended period of time, the brushing members lose their strength and detach from the attachment holes (i.e. detached from the base). Moreover, since the brushing members are usually pressed into the corresponding attachment holes, when this procedure is not carried out properly, the brushing members will be damaged by the pressing machine and this problem severely shorten the general lifespan of the relevant brushes.
- The invention is advantageous in that it provides a brush having an extended product life span.
- Another advantage of the invention is to provide a producing device which is capable of manufacturing brushes having extended product lifespan.
- According to the present invention, the foregoing and other objects and advantages are attained by providing a brush, comprising a brush head which comprises a brush support, and a plurality of brushing members integrally provided on the brush support.
- Moreover, the present invention provides a brush producing device for manufacturing a brush having a brush support and a plurality of brushing members, wherein the brush producing device comprises a securing device for holding a the brushing members in a predetermined pattern, and has a molding cavity for integrally connecting the brushing members and the brush support, wherein the securing device is positioned above the molding cavity.
- As compared with conventional arts, the present invention provides a brush wherein the brush support and the brushing members are integrally formed so as to avoid uneven connection between these two elements. As such, the brushing members are substantially prevented from detaching from the brush support irrespective of the diameter of the brushing members. With all these features, the general product life span of the present invention can be substantially prolonged.
- Moreover, the present invention provides a brush producing device for manufacturing a brush having a brush support and a plurality of brushing members, wherein the brush producing device comprises a securing device for holding the brushing members in a predetermined pattern. Since the brush support and the brushing members are integrally formed so as to avoid uneven connection between these two elements, the general product life span of the present invention can be substantially prolonged.

The preferred embodiment of the present invention is described in details below.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 toFIG. 2 of the drawings, a brush according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is illustrated, in which the brush comprises abrush head 1 comprising abrush support 11, and a plurality ofbrushing members 12 integrally provided on thebrush support 11. - More specifically, the
brush support 11 and the brushingmembers 12 are made of the same material so that the brushingmembers 12 and thebrush support 11 can be heated to integrally fuse with each other so as to produce an integral body of thebrush support 11 and the brushingmembers 12. - The brush further comprises an
elongated base member 2 supporting thebrush head 1 and is extended from thebrush support 11, wherein thebase member 2 has a plurality ofengagement slots 21 formed at a top front portion thereof, while thebrush support 11 further has a plurality ofengagement members 13 downwardly extended from a bottom side thereof, wherein each of theengagement members 13 is aligned with acorresponding engagement slot 21 formed on thebase member 2. Thus, theengagement members 13 are arranged to insert into theengagement slots 21 respectively so as to securely and detachably attach thebrush support 11 onto thebase member 2. As shown inFIG. 2 of the drawings, theengagement slots 21 are spacedly formed on thebase member 2, while theengagement members 13 are spacedly formed on thebrush support 11 and are aligned with theengagement slots 21 respectively. As such, when thebrush head 1 has been used for an extended period of time and becomes old, a user may be able replace theold brush head 1 with a new one, while thebase member 2 can be continuously used. Thus, the user does not need to replace the entire brush and this feature makes the present invention environmentally friendly. - It is worth mentioning that a diameter of each of the brushing
members 12 can be varied and adjusted according to the actual circumstances in which the present invention is utilized. For example, for a toothbrush as shown inFIG. 1 , the diameter of those brushingmembers 12 which are distributed along a peripheral edge of thebrush support 11 is larger than that of those which are distributed on the mid portion of thebrush support 11 so as to prevent the brushingmembers 12 having the smaller diameter to bend outwardly. - Moreover, it is important to stress that the integral connection between the
brush support 11 and the brushingmembers 12 can be any connection and any variation is within the scope of protection of the present invention. - As compared with conventional arts, the present invention provides a brush wherein the
brush support 11 and the brushingmembers 12 are integrally formed so as to avoid uneven connection between these two elements. As such, the brushingmembers 12 are substantially prevented from detaching from thebrush support 11 irrespective of the diameter of the brushingmembers 12. With all these features, the general product life span of the present invention can be substantially prolonged. - Referring to
FIG. 3 toFIG. 6 of the drawings, the above-mentioned structure of a brush can be applied to abroom 101, amakeup brush 102, apainting brush 103, acleaning brush 104, or other brushing devices. All these brushes have brushingmembers 12 which are made of soluble fiber material and are integrally connected to the brush support. All these variations are within the scope of the present invention. - Referring to
FIG. 7 toFIG. 8 of the drawings, the present invention also provides a device for manufacturing the brush as mentioned above. The brush producing device according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises asecuring device 3 for holding thebrushing members 12 in a predetermined pattern, and has a molding cavity 4 for integrally connecting thebrushing members 12 and thebrush support 11, wherein thesecuring device 3 is positioned above the molding cavity 4. In this brushing producing device, the securingdevice 3 is arranged to hold the brushingmembers 12 stably which are then integrally connected to thebrush support 11 in the molding cavity 4. As such, the brush support 11 and the brushingmembers 12 are integrally formed so as to avoid uneven connection between these two elements. The brushingmembers 12 are substantially prevented from detaching from thebrush support 11, and the general product life span of the present invention can be substantially prolonged. - More specifically, the brushing producing device further comprises a
molding frame 41, and a heating device. The molding cavity 4 has a shape substantially the same as that of thebrush support 11, wherein theraw brushing elements 5 are transported to the molding cavity 4 by the securingdevice 3 and heated by the heating device to integrally connect with thebrush support 11 for forming thebrushing members 12. It is worth mentioning that the shape of the molding cavity 4 can be predetermined according to the manufacturing or marketing needs of the brush. For example, when the manufacturing is making a broom, the shape of the molding cavity 4 should be correspondingly adjusted. - The
securing device 3 comprises asecuring member 31, aholding device 32 for holding theraw brushing elements 5, and acutter device 33 provided between the securingmember 31 and theholding device 32 for cutting theraw brushing elements 5 at predetermined intervals. Each of thesecuring member 31, theholding device 32 and thecutter device 33 has a plurality of passing holes 51 for allowing theraw brushing elements 5 to pass therethrough. In other words, theraw brushing elements 5 are stably held by theholding device 32 and are extended to the molding cavity 4 through the passing holes 51. The securingmember 31 has a predetermined height and extends along a longitudinal direction of theraw brushing elements 5, wherein thecutter device 33 is transversely provided slightly above a top edge of thesecuring member 31 so that thecutter device 33 is arranged to cut theraw brushing elements 5 to have a length substantially the same as the height of the securingmember 31. - The
cutter device 33 comprises a guidingboard 331 and acutting knife 332 provided underneath the guidingboard 331, and adriving device 333 connected to thecutting knife 332, wherein thedriving device 333 is arranged to drive thecutting knife 332 to cut theraw brushing elements 5 into a predetermined length. - The
holding device 32 comprises a first and asecond holding member locker driver device first holding member 321 comprises afirst locker member 3231 while thesecond holding member 322 comprises asecond locker member 3232, wherein thefirst locker member 3231 is connected to thelocker driver device 3241, while thesecond locker member 3232 is connected to the secondlocker driver device 3242. Each of the first and thesecond locker member raw brushing elements 5 to pass therethrough. The first and thesecond locker member locker driver device raw brushing elements 5 so as to selectively hold theraw brushing elements 5 in position for ease of cutting by thecutter device 33. - The holding
device 32 further comprises a guidingtube 325 extended between the first and the second holdingmember raw brushing elements 5 along the passing holes 51. - On the other hand, the brush producing device further comprises an
actuating device 42 provided underneath themolding frame 41 for actuating the securingdevice 3, wherein theactuating device 42 comprises an actuatingmember 43 extends across themolding frame 41 to bias against the securingmember 31. When theactuating device 42 is activated, theactuating device 42 is arranged to drive the securingmember 31 to move along a vertical direction. - The first and the second locker driver device, 3241, 3242, the driving
device 333 and theactuating device 42 can be embodied as a wide variety of driving devices. - The manufacturing process of the brush and the
brush head 1 is as follows: - 1. The securing
device 31 and themolding frame 41 are opened to receive theraw brushing elements 5. Theraw brushing elements 5 are arranged to pass through the passing holes 51 provided on the first holdingmember 321, the guidingtube 325, the second holdingmember 322, thefirst locker member 3231, thesecond locker member 3232, the guidingboard 331, and the securingmember 31 and extend to receive in themolding frame 41 and the molding cavity 4. - 2. The
second locker member 3232 is driven to move transversely so as to tighten up theraw brushing elements 5 because the second holdingmember 322 and the guidingboard 331 remain stationary for generating an enhanced tension on theraw brushing elements 5. - 3. The securing
device 31 is driven to move downwardly along with theraw brushing elements 5. Theraw brushing elements 5 are then transported to the molding cavity 4 for being heated to integrally connect with thebrush support 11. The securingdevice 31 continues to move downwardly until it reaches themolding frame 41. - 4. When the securing
device 31 reaches themolding frame 41, the cuttingdevice 33 is activated to cut theraw brushing elements 5 into the brushingmembers 12. - 5. The securing
device 31 is then upwardly moved back to its original position. - 6. When the securing
device 31 is moving upwardly, theraw brushing elements 5 remain stationary. Thebrush head 1 is then removed from the molding cavity 4 and the above cycle continues. - It will thus be seen that the objects of the present invention have been fully and effectively accomplished. It embodiments have been shown and described for the purposes of illustrating the functional and structural principles of the present invention and is subject to change without departure from such principles. Therefore, this invention includes all modifications encompassed within the spirit and scope of the following claims.
Claims (10)
1. A brush, comprising a brush head which comprises a brush support, and a plurality of brushing members integrally provided on said brush support.
2. The brush, as recited in claim 1 , wherein said brushing members and said brush support are integrally formed together by heat treatment.
3. The brush, as recited in claim 1 , further comprising an elongated base member supporting said brush head and is extended from said brush support, wherein said base member has a plurality of engagement slots formed at a top front portion thereof, while said brush support further has a plurality of engagement members downwardly extended from a bottom side thereof, wherein each of said engagement members is aligned with a corresponding engagement slot formed on said base member, wherein said engagement members are arranged to insert into said engagement slots respectively so as to securely and detachably attach said brush support onto said base member.
4. The brush, as recited in any one of claims 1 -3, wherein each said brushing members has a predetermined diameter.
5. A brush producing device for manufacturing a brush having a brush support and a plurality of brushing members, wherein said brush producing device comprises a securing device for holding a said brushing members in a predetermined pattern, and has a molding cavity for integrally connecting said brushing members and said brush support, wherein said securing device is positioned above said molding cavity.
6. The brush producing device, as recited in claim 5 , further comprising a molding frame, and a heating device, wherein said molding cavity has a shape substantially said same as that of said brush support, wherein said brushing members are transported to said molding cavity by said securing device for heat treatment.
7. The brush producing device, as recited in claim 6 , further comprising an actuating device provided underneath said molding frame for actuating said securing device.
8. The brush producing device, as recited in claim 5 , wherein said securing device comprises a securing member, a holding device for holding said brushing members, and a cutter device provided between said securing member and said holding device for cutting said raw brushing elements at predetermined intervals, wherein each of said securing member, said holding device and said cutter device has a plurality of passing holes for allowing said raw brushing elements to pass therethrough.
9. The brush producing device, as recited in claim 8 , wherein said cutter device comprises a guiding board and a cutting knife provided underneath said guiding board, and a driving device connected to said cutting knife, wherein said driving device is arranged to drive said cutting knife to cut said brushing members into a predetermined length.
10. The brush producing device, as recited in claim 8 , wherein said holding device comprises a first and a second holding member, and a guiding tube extended between said first and said second holding member and communicates with said corresponding passing holes for facilitating easy passage of said brushing members along said passing holes.
