Description
- U.S. Pat. No. 6,058,550
- U.S. Pat. No. D 354,595
- The present invention relates to a portable movable apparatus to clean the screen of electronic devices, such as a cell phone, MP3 player, portable electronic game or eyeglass lens. The invention displays the ability to also be utilized as an electronic accessory holder, a money holder clip as well as a mirror for individuals to view themselves.
- In an effort to address the need for an individual to clean the lens of their eyeglass, computer screen or portable electronic device display screen without having to utilize a part of their clothing or insufficient cloths or paper napkins which can leave dirt smudges and lint, a number of apparatus have been developed. These inventions mainly focus on the ability to clean a stationary CRT screen but does not address compact-ability, multi-function or portability of a display screen-cleaning device for travel.
- U.S. Pat. No. 6,058,550 describes a hand held video display screen-cleaning tool. It does not address a compact portable means for users to utilize the device for smaller screened portable devices. Its squeegee form and bristles lend to larger CRT desktop screens for a sufficient cleaning of dust but does not clean smaller devices adequately, unable to remove fingerprints, smudges or encrusted dirt.
- U.S. Pat. No. D354,595 describes a hand held screen cleaning device, although ergonomically shaped to conform to the palm of the users hand, the cleaner is bulky and not portable for today's portability trends in electronic devices accessories, most in which are thin, flat and compact. The “knob” like form does not lend to easy portability, nor does the apparatus have the ability to accommodate a small mirror for self-viewing, neither does it encompass pocket(s) for small electronic accessories such as a SIM or memory card.
- The problem of dust, dirt, fingerprints and smudges on screens or glass is always irritating to the user of that particular device. In eyeglasses to the latest portable hand held electronic device, a smudge of oil, sweat, or dust on the glass of a display screen or lens doesn't allow the user to view clearly the images of the device, whether it is reading an email or text message on a cellular telephone, or viewing images on the screen of a video camera, to trying to seeing what time it is on your wrist watch, this continual cleaning of objects with a lens or screen can be frustrating.
- The invention allows for the user to be able to clean their devices (electrical and non-electrical) without the need to utilize the (clothing worn), sleeve of a shirt or the pants leg fabric to quickly clean their glass, screen or len's. The materials utilized are micro-fiber or a micro-suede fabric. This convenient portable cleaning device will assist in keeping dirt and soil normally wiped on clothing onto the Micro-fiber cleaning fabric in the apparatus there by keeping the users clothing cleaner, relieving them from the frustration of dirty clothes.
- The invention is lightweight, small and compact in nature with two or more congruent side panels. The Cleaners congruent sides are not limited to a rectangular shape but can be made in various shapes and sizes to accommodate the changing needs of users and market trends. These congruent sides can be made from multiple types of fabrics and materials, such as leather, PVC, or nylons. Each congruent side is joined to one another by a flexible fabric to allow the cleaner to flip open, move on a sliding mechanism as well as a swivel device secured to the inner sides of each congruent side to swivel open revealing the microfiber cleaning fabric.
- The inventions inner mechanics consist of at least one or more movable mechanism such as a swiveling device or one or more sliding rail device which allows for the devices congruent sides to turn, 45, 90, 180 and up to 360 degrees depending on the swivel mechanisms ability or to slide independently of each other. The swivel mechanism embedded in a flexible material, such as paper cardboard to assist in creating a stable structure of the embodiment of the invention is placed systematically between each of the congruent sides of the cleaner to allow for an adequate amount of cleaning fabric to be exposed when swiveled or slide to open to clean the users various sized and shaped display screen or lenses.
- The invention for the purpose of adequately cleaning display screens, or lens will consist of a thin layer of filler fabric to cushion the inner swivel mechanism and cardboard materials on each side of the apparatus inner most sides. This inner thin filler fabric layer will then be covered by one or more congruent sized micro-fiber glass and screen cleaning fabric secured to the congruent sides made of flexible fabrics.
- A small mirror is embedded into one of the congruent sides to give the user the ability to view themselves for grooming purposes. For the purpose of securing the closure of the portable cleaning device, one or more magnets are utilized by inserting them into the inner cardboard material on one or more of the apparatus congruent sides. Other means to securely close the cleaning device can be by means of Velcro, snaps, clasps, hook and loop, zippers, and the like.
- The invention is also outfitted with a small opening or pocket(s) to accommodate electronic devices accessories such as a SIM card, accessory key pad cleaning brush, debit and credit card or the like. This pocket or pouch can be attached to the outer shell fabric of the cleaning device or on the inner side of one or more of the cleaning devices congruent sides, by the means of sewing, adhesive attachment or both.
- The inventions optional means to be carried by the user includes a belt loop or belt clip/ swivel clip or otherwise, a wrist strap for convenient hand carrying and a fabric loop for a key ring attachment.
- The invention also demonstrates the ability to be utilized as a money clip, with a clipping device or one or more magnets, encases in a flexible fabric attached to the main body of the apparatus affixed to one or more of the congruent outer sides of the cleaning device.
- These and other features, aspects and advantages of the invention will become apparent by reference to the following description and accompanying drawings which are given by way of illustration only, and thus are not limitative of the invention, and wherein:
