Abstract

This “Wearable Photo Art Collection” allows you to wear jewelry with photos. An article of jewelry comprising a bracelet having a single framed compartment or a plurality of framed compartments each of which releasably receives a photograph or some similar medium indicia thereon. Each framed compartment is formed with two PVC plastics. One is clear and shows the front of the photograph. The other PVC plastic is black and harder, to protect the back of the photograph. Four sidewalls are integrally formed therewith. Openings are formed in two of the opposing sidewalls to receive a thin resilient cord or the like employed to connect the framed compartments in a series or a single framed compartment to various other desired objects. A separate opening is formed within the sidewalls to receive the two PVC plastics to slide in the picture and thin slide in the thin cord. This opening is also to facilitate the removal of the photograph. Jewelry pieces with colored stones that are placed between the frames are provided to keep the series of framed compartment equally separated from the next and ensure the bracelet's overall flexibility.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Articles of jewelry for displaying photographs or some other kind of object bearing indicia for wearing on a person's wrist, around the neck or elsewhere on the body or in the clothing are well known in the prior art. Included among these prior art references are the articles of jewelry shown in

U.S. Pat. No. 1,319,201 granted Oct. 21, 1919 to Boldizsar
U.S. Pat. No. 2,145,071 granted Jan. 24, 1939 to Cave and
U.S. Pat. No. 5,081,852 granted Jan. 21, 1992 to Cox

Cox discloses a bracelet with a rigid band containing individual compartments with removable windows for displaying photographs.
Boldizsar discloses an item of jewelry that includes linked compartments for receiving photographs or the like, and rear plate formed with an upwardly extending bezel to secure the photograph. A cover is employed as a frame and requires more than a simple manipulation to remove.
Cave disclose articles of jewelry comprised of rings, brooches, pendants, and bracelets among others, that display photographs beneath precious, non-precious or artificial stones of supreme clarity and transparency.
Neither the aforesaid references nor anything else known in the prior art discloses the improvements of the present invention directed to a pendant or a bracelet, or some other item of jewelry with components that are connected to enable the enhancement of its aesthetic features and the individual or multiple photographs displayed therein to be secured and easily removed and replaced, but without the major deficiencies of any of its precursors in the prior Art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The outer frame is formed of base metal in antique silver plating with continuous sidewalls integrally formed with the framed compartment is provided to contain the photograph. The framed compartment is additional served by two PVC plastics sleeves for containing and protecting the photograph.
A compartment is formed generally with the sidewalls in which a photograph may be inserted and easily manipulated. Within this same compartment PVC plastics protectors are provided and in which act both as protectors and e template for the photograph to be displayed. The photograph is sandwiched between them and easily placed within the frame. This provides an easy method of placement and removal of the photograph from the framed compartment.
Openings are formed flush with two of the opposite sidewalls to receive a thin resilient stretch elastic cord or the like employed to connect the framed compartments in a series.
Spacer members are provided to keep each framed compartment equally separated from the next and ensure the bracelet's overall flexibility and aesthetic quality.

ADVANTAGES AND DIFFERENCES

Easy Insertion and Removal of the Photos:
By just sliding the photos up and in to place without requiring the use of any additional objects to force them into place which may also result in damage to the image.
The back of the frame is open with the photo held and supported by 4 prongs and a hard plastic cover, rather than a hard and enclosed metal wall which makes it difficult to access the photo.
The unique and artistic jewelry design with crystal stones that offer an appealing look rather than basic metal beads.
The shape and size of the frames are larger which makes it easier for consumers to match the fit of the photo to the frame without the need to reduce the size of the existing photo before insertion to the frame.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

FIG. 1. Is a view of the metal base with an opening within the sidewalls. Here two PVC plastic protectors come together and will allow the user to insert a photograph between them. This opening acts both as the frame in which the photograph is housed as well as the opening in which the photograph will be slid in and out of the frame.
FIG. 2. Shows the four sidewalls and a clearer view of the back of the metal base. The two PVC plastic protectors are to be slid into the metal base consist of a clear one for placement in front and acts as a protector of the photograph and a harder black PVC plastic for placement as the back protector
FIG. 3. Shows the four pins on the back rear of the frames. These are the pins that will hold the photograph(s) in place between the clear and black PVC plastic protectors. This invention makes it easier as you do not have to push the pins. A photograph simply needs to be slid into place within the sidewalls and underneath the pins.
FIG. 4. Shows a full opening in the center of the frame. It is a perspective of the improved article of jewelry according to the present invention. It shows the front of the frame without a photograph.

FIG. 5. Jewelry pieces with colored stones are placed between the frames which connect the frames together. It is an enlarged perspective view of the front of the bracelet.
FIG. 6 Is an enlarged perspective of the back of the bracelet. It shows how the elastic cord further holds the photograph(s) in place. In addition the elastic band gives flexibility to the bracelet. It is from behind the cord and pins that the photographs must be inserted or dislocated from their framed compartment(s).
FIG. 7. The photograph, which is to be inserted into the frame is placed (sandwiched) in between the plastic PVC sleeves which act both as a template and protector. It is an enlarged view of the framed compartments demonstrating the easy means of inserting or removing the photograph according to the present invention. There is no need for any additional implements for insertion.

- It is an enlarged frontal view of the framed compartments displaying the photograph between the two plastic PVC protectors being slid either in or out through the opening into the sidewalls of the frame as well as in front of the pins and cord located on the rear of the frame and according to the present invention.
- B. Rear View
- It is an enlarged view of the compartment displaying the insertion/removal of the photograph by sliding the photos down and in for insertion or pulling the photograph up and out for removal along with the two plastic PVC protectors according to the present invention.

Claims

1. An article of jewelry comprising of a bracelet having a plurality of open framed compartments for easily receiving a small photograph, said open framed compartments being formed of a hard black PVC plastic for containing and protecting the back of the photograph and upwardly extending generally flat sidewalls along the side of said PVC plastic and formed integrally therewith;

A first opening and a second opening formed flush within opposing sidewalls of each of said compartments to form said bracelet; one or more space members to separate each of said compartemtns from the other and enhance said bracelet's flexibility and aesthetics; and means formed within the PVC plastics to use the clear PVC plastic on top of the photograph and the harder black PVC plastic on the back of the photograph, the photo should be slid in between the two PVC plastics and then all three slide into the framed compartment.

2. The article of jewelry in claim 1 wherein each of said open framed compartments includes 4 pins formed on the back within each frame of said compartment for assisting to secure the photograph.

3. The article of jewelry of claim 1 wherein said openings in each of said opposing side walls receives said means for connecting a series of said compartments to form a generally circular shape of jewelry.

4. The article of jewelry of claim 3 wherein said means for connecting said open framed compartments comprises a resilient thin stretch elastic cord, comprised of a synthetic material.

5. The article of claim 1 wherein said spacer member is comprised of one or more colored stones.

6. The article of jewelry in claim 1 wherein said means formed within the two PVC plastics for receiving and releasing the photograph comprises an opening in the frame.

7. The article of jewelry in claim 1 further including two PVC plastics sized and shaped to allow the photograph to be easily inserted in between the two PVC plastics and then to be slid into the opening of the frame and sufficiently enabling it to be pushed backwards and completely separate from said compartment.

8. The article of jewelry of claim 7 comprising ornamental stones of different sizes, shapes and colors.

9. The article of jewelry of claim 1 wherein each of said spacer members contains an opening there through which to receive said resilient thin elastic cord.

10. The article of jewelry of claim 1 wherein said open framed compartment is comprised of metal.
