The angle to which the elevated body 12 will be brought will depend upon the distance of the restraining members 1'7 from rod 14. After these members are properly adjusted the rods 24 are placed in engagement with keepers 26. Figure 1.
Following the adjustment described the thrust members or links 16 are actuated to raise the main frame 9. Frames 9 and 13 will move together as the members 1'7 unfold or straighten out. Immediately thereafter these members will hold back on the front portions of frame 13 so that as rod 14 and frame 9 continue to move upwardly, the rear end of frame 13 will also be swung upwardly, thereby lifting the back end of body 12 from frame 9 as in Figure 3. As before stated, the angle of the hoisted body 12 relative to frame 9 will depend upon the distance between members 17 and rod 14.
In every instance the body and other parts can be lowered by gravity to the positions shown in Figure 1 simply by unwinding the connections 7 from drum 6.
What is claimed is:
1. The combination with a truck structure and a body, of crossed pivotally connected main and supplemental supporting frames, a pivotal connection between the main frame and the truck structure, movable connections between said frames and the body, means movably engaging the truck structure for exerting a thrust against said frames at their point of connection to each other thereby to raise the frames and body, a foldable restraining element pivotally connected to the thrust means and slidably connected to the supplemental frame, and means for adjusting said element toward and from the point of connection between the frames prior to the elevation of the frames.

The combination with a truck structure and a body, normally in lowered position, of pivotally connected crossed frames interposed between the structure and the body, one of the frames being connected to the structure and body and the other frame being connected to said body and having a free end portion, a thrust means movable on the structure and connected to the frames, foldable restraining means adjustable relative to the lowered body along said free end portion, and movable with the thrust means, and. means for fastening said restraining means in position coaxial with the pivotal connection of the frames and at predetermined distances therefrom.
5. The combination with a truck structure and a body, of pivotally connected crossed frames interposed between the structure and body, and foldable to position the body in lowered position on the structure, one of the frames being connected to the structure and body and the other frame being connected to said body and having a free end portion, thrust means movable along the structure and connected to the frames, foldable restraining means movable with the thrust means and adjustable along said free end portion, means shiftable relative to the body while the body is in said lowered. position for fastening said restraining means in position coaxial with the pivotal connection of the frames and at predetermined distances therefrom, said means including a latch rod extending from the restraining means, and a keeper on one of the frames adjustably engaged by the rod.
6. The combination with a truck structure and a body normally resting thereon, of crossed .pivotally connected frames between the structure and body, one of the. frames being movably connected to the structure and body and the other frame having one end connected to the body and its other end free, movable thrust means supported on said structure and toactuate the frames at their point of crossing to raise the body, and a foldable restraining element movable with the thrust means, said restraining means being adjustable along said free end portion toward or from the point of crossing of the frames while the body is in normal position.
