Description

Patented Dec. 6, 1932 i I 1:
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE ACHILLE DE mm, or NORTH ADAMS, nassacnusm'r's "HANGER Application filed January 12, 1982. Serial No. 588,207.
5 understanding, however, that the improvebled at the free end 8 of the hook and conment is capable of extended application and is not confined to the exact showing of the drawing nor totthe precise construction described and,' therefore, such changes. and
modifications may be madetherefrom as do not affect the spirit of the invention nor exceed the scope thereof as expressed in the appended claim.
In the drawing:
1 is a front elevation-of the hanger constructed in accordance with my invention, this view showing fragmeiitarily a trousers held by the hanger.
- Fig. 2 is an end View of Fig. 1
Fig. 3 is a fragmentary plan View of the lower part of the hanger with a trousers held thereby; and
Fig. 4 is a section taken on the line 4-4 of- Fig. 3, looking in the direction of the arrows.
Referring to the drawing for a more detailed description thereof, the embodiment of my invention, as illustrated, comprises a hanger 5 which includes a hook 6 and a loop 7, both the hook and the loop being formed of one continuous piece of wirewhich is doutinuous from the bottom of the hook to form the loop 7 ,the end of the doubled wire being Wound around the lower portion of the hook,
as indicated by the numeral 9. From the foregoing it will readily be understood that the hook and the loop which together comprise the complete hanger, are formed of a single piece of doubled wire or other suitable material, such material being preferably resilient, as is the wire.
The loop 7 comprises inclined portions 8' and a horizontal, portion 10, the former as well as; the latter consisting of parallel portions of the doubled single piece of material of which the hanger is formed. The horizontal portion 10 of the loop 7 comprises parts 11 and 12, 15, the latter being spaced apart and being adapted to exert pressure on the'members 11 and 12 when the trousers 16 is held between the mentioned members when the rings are sufficiently moved towards each other, the rings pressing the latter members toward each other to effectively hold the article of clothing between them. The members 11 and 12 are corrugated on their outer sides at the points where the rings 15 operate.
What is claimed as new and useful is:
A hanger. comprising a hook and a loop, the lower portion of whichloop comprises a pair of horizontal members, and a pair of rings embracing and slidable on said members and adapted to press the same together when the hanger is holding one or more articles, said hook and loop being formed from a single piece of material doubled at the free end of the hook. i i v r In testimony whereof I hereby afiix my signature. v I ACHILLE DE FALCQ,
