It is thepurpose ofmypresent invention f to make use of this standard form of equip-' ment and to so constructmy improved holder that it may be readily'attached to the end members of the cr-oss'elink with little diifi- 3 culty.

In accordance with the provisions of the patent statutes I have described the principles of operation of my invention, together with the device which I now consider to represent the best embodiment thereof; but I desire to have it understood that the device shown is only illustrative, and that the invention may be carried out by other means and applied to uses other than those above set out. i

I claim: j I V 1. A snap holder for use with anattaching hook comprising spaced branches having backturned open hooks at one end, said holder comprising a base and a backturned spring tongue both having lateral extensions oppositely disposed to form, when viewed lengthwise of the holder, grooves opposite edges thereof to receive the branches of said attaching hook when the latter are closed to normal positions, said base being adapted to project through the hook between said branches whereby the opposite ends of the base rest against the hook on opposite sides thereof.

2. A snap holder for use with an attaching hook comprising spaced branches having backturned open hooks at one end, said holder comprising a base including a broadened pad and extended ears said base being adapted to project through the hook between said branches, whereby the opposite ends of the base rest against the hook on opposite sides thereof, and a spring tongue backbetween said branches and having one end offset from the plane of the opposite end, whereby said opposite ends of the base rest against the hook on opposite sides thereof being of a length to engage the hooks and the link to which the hooks are attached to prevent substantial endwise movement of the holder.

5. A snap holder for use with an attaching hook comprising spaced branches having backturned open hooks at one end, said holder comprising a base having an offset portion whereby the base is adapted to pro ject through a hook between said branches from one side to the other side thereof, clips projecting laterally from the base to engage'a hook, a bend in the end of the base adapted to be located between the side members of a hook, and a spring tongue extending from said bend and adapted to lie against said side of the hook at the extreme end of the base.
