WINDOW SHADE AND CURTAIN FIXTURE Filed July 23, 1931 Patented Aug. 23, 1932 UNITED STATES PATENT- orrica EDWARD n. SULLIVAN, or FALL. RIVER, rrlrssncnusnrrs WINDOW SHADE AND cururnm rux'riinn" Application filed July 23,
The invention relates to a window shade and curtain fixture and more especlally to an adjustable window shade and curtain widths of window frames, while requiring but a single fastener to secure the hangings in place and likewise the article to the window frame.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a fixture of this character, whereby a curtain pole will be properly supported in relation to a window shade, so that on raising and lowering the latter it will not interfere with the curtains when hung from the pole, the major portion of the fixture being made from a single piece of sheet material, preferably metal. 7
A further object of the invention is the provision of a fixture of this character, which is extremely simple in construction, thoroughly reliable and efficient in its purposes, strong, durable, neat and attractive in appearance, assuring the proper hang to the window shade and curtains, which latter may be supported from a pole or rod, and inexpensive to manufacture.
With these and other objects in view the invent-ion consists in the features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will'be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which discloses the preferred embodiment of the invention, and pointed out in the claims hereunto appended.
In the accompanying drawing Figure 1 is a. perspective view of the fixture constructed in accordance with the in-; I
a load in supporting the oieana rod with Vention and applied to a window frame.
Figure 2 is a side View, the same being partly in section.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of the fixture detached from the window frame withthe shade bracket removed.

It is of course understood that there is employed a right and left hand fixturefor the mounting of the window shade, curtain pole and rods or in other words there is a pair to a set'for each window.
The fixture is preferably made from sheet metal, cut, stamped or otherwise formed in its manufacture and also to give strength and durability thereto, although it may be otherwise made and constructed from i any suitable material or materials, its shape and size as well as the materialor materials from. I,
which it is made being no part of the present invention. v I
It is also to be understood that-changes,
variations and modifications may be made t in the invention without departing from the spirit of thesame or sacrificing any of its advantages and as fall properly within the scope of the claims hereunto appended.
What is claimed is 1. A fixture of the kind described, com
prising a strip-like base having an ear pro- 'ected laterally therefrom, a rod socket memer on the rear, a window shade bracket on r the base, a web on the base, an arm extending forwardly from the web to one side of the baseand having curtain pole and rod seats, and a brace forming a part of the Web and having its free end contacting with the o arm between theseats.
2 A fixture of the kind described, comprising a base strip having an ear projected laterally therefrom at one edge of the same, a rod socket member onthe car, a window shade bracket on the strip, an arm integral with and extending forwardly from the strip at one edge of the same and having spaced curtain pole and rod seats therein, and a brace formedwith the strip and disposed below the arm and curved upwardly into contact with saidarm'at the free edge of said brace. Y v
3. A fixture of the kind described, comprising a base strip having an ear projected laterally from one edge of the same, a rod socket member on the ear,"a window shade bracket on the strip, an arm integral with and extending forwardly from the strip, at one edge of the same, and having spaced curtain pole and rod seats therein,a brace formed with the strip anddisposedbelow the arm and curved upwardly into contact at'its free end with said arm, a fastener receiving lower end formed onthe strip, and a pointed fastener nib at the upper end of the strip and inset therefrom.
In testimony whereof, I ffix my signature.
