This invention relates to a combined tub and sink, the object being to provide for kitchen use and also for use elsewhere a tub y having a drainboard and formed to removably receive a specially constructed sink whereby a single outfit may act for both devices.

Another object ot' the invention is to provide a combined sink and tub whereby mini- `lo mum space isoccupied for presenting both a sink and a tub continually ready to be used at any time.

A further object, morespeciiicially, is to provide a tub or tray and a removable sink i5 therefor, the parts being so arranged that the sink is interlocked with certain overhanging portionsoif the tub and arranged to discharge through the same outlet.

The device may be used in many places but is particularly adapted for modern apart- "ments where space must be economized with respect to permanent fittings. In each kitchen it is desirable to have a tub in order that a certain amount of washing may be accomplished, and it is also essential to have a sink and drainboard. Heretoore it has been necessary to provide independent members with two outlets. By the present invention a structure ispresented which occupies minimum space and yet gives maximum efficiency.

As indicated inthe drawings, the tub or tray 1, as it is known in the trade, is provided with a drainboard 2 and a back .3 through which the spigots 4 and 5 extend. The drainboard 2 may be of any desirable kind and merges into a flanged or extending portion 6 which extends across the front at one end of As shown in Figure 2, the tub 1 is provided with an outlet 7 and an overflow passageway 5118. In addition to these members there are `suciently long toextend a short distance presented flanges or beads 9 and 10, bead V9 extending across the back of the tub and bead 10 across one end, nameiy,the end connected with the drainboard 2. This bead or flange is desirable in that it allows water to drain from the drainboard 2 and back 3 into the sink 11, whereby none of the water will enter the space 12. rlhe sink 11 consists of a re-` ceptacle or sink member extending across the end 15 and the side 16 as far as the drain- 6o board 2, as is clearly illustrated in Figure 1, and also indicated in Figs. 2 and 3, respectively.

It will be noted from Figures 2 and 3 that one end and one side of the sink 11 iits under 65 the respective beads 9 and 10. It will also be noted from Figure 2 that the sink is not only provided with the usual outlet 17 but that an overflow opening 18 is also provided. A'lip 19 is arranged adjacent the opening 18 so as to direct ail overi'iow water into the passageway 8. This is to prevent the accum-` ulation of waterin the space 12. From Figure 2 it will be noted that the pipe 20 is only into the outlet pipe 7.

The sink 13 is set in the tray or tub 1 in such a manner that the two edges will slip under the beads 9 and 10 and present a neat appearance as shown in Figure 1, wherein ythe drainboard and sink are in position for use. Vhenever it is desired to use the tray 1 the ange 14 is grasped at the front and at the same time it is grasped at the end and raised upwardly, whereupon the entire sink is free and may be lifted out of the tray. The tub, including the drainboard and back, as well as the sink, is preferably o'f' enamelware such as is now in common use, so that whichever device is in use presents a clean appearance and one capable of ready adjustment so that either the tray or tub may be used or the sink and drainboard.

I claim- 1. A combined sink and tub including a tub member having an outlet in the bottom and an overflow outlet in the side near the top, said tub member also being provided with a bead at one end and one side, a sink removably mounted in said tub vand positioned with one end beneath said beads the other side and end extending over the edge of the tub, said sink having an outlet and an overflow outlet registering respectively with the outlet and overflow outlet of the tub.

2. A combined sink and tub comprising a tub member provided with an outlet at the bottom and a bead at the top on one side and one end, and a sink having an outlet diseharging into the outlet of the tub, said sink being positioned with one edge and one end beneath said beads whereby water overflowing over the beads will be discharged into the sink.

3. A combined sink and tub comprising a tub member provided with an overflow and an inwardly extending bead on one side and one end at the upper part, and a sink removably fitted into said tub member with one end and one side extending beneath said bead, said sink being provided with an outlet fitting into the outlet of the tub member and an overflow opening positioned to discharge into the overflow passageway of the tub, and a flange overlapping one edge and one end of the upper edges of the tub.

A device of the character described comprising a tub formed with an integral back and an integral drainboard, said tub having an outlet merging into an overflow passageway, said outlet being at the bottom of the tub and said overfiow passageway extending from said outlet to near the top of the tub, and a sink removably mounted in the tub provided with an outlet discharging into the outlet of the tub and an overflow opening discharging into said overiiow passageway, said sink at the overflow opening having a lip eX- tending into the overflow passageway of the tub.
