This invention relates to improvements in veneer bond, for use in building construction.
It is the primary object of the present invention to provide in building constructions,
a means for forming an efficient bond between veneer walls of brick, stone, or terra cotta, and the inner walls.
A further object of the invention is to provide a veneer bond in which the veneer engaging portions are quickly attachable asv the veneer-wall progresses and are adjustable for irregular spacing and are adapted to be embedded and concealed in the mortar joints of the veneering medium.
A. further obj ect of the invention is to provide a veneer bond which may be installed very easily and quickly and which materially reduces construction costs.
A further object of the invention is to provide a veneer bond which is of very simple construction, is inexpensive to manufacture, is strong and durable, and is well adapted for the purpose described.
With the above and other objects in view,
the invention consists of the improved veneer board, and its parts and combinations as set forth in the claims, and all equivalents thereof.

vWhat I claim as my invention is:
1.*In abu'ilding construction, an inner Wall having a verticalgroove in its outer face, an elongated vertical, non-flexible rod formed With'inte'gral olf-set portions, the olfset portions being secured' to said inner Wall, and the entire vertical: rod `portionbeing disposed Within said groovctandspaced slightly from surfaces of the Wall deiining said groove, an outer veneer Wall, and a bonding member anchored betwvjeen adjacent units of the veneer Wall and attached to saidvertical rod.
2. In a building construct-ion, an inner Wall having a vertical groove in its outer face, an elongated vertical,.nonlexible rod formed' With integral off-set portions, the offset portions being secured to said inner Wall, and the enti-re vertical rod portion being disposed Within said groovev andspaced slightly from the surfaces of the Wall defining said groove, an outer veneer Wall, mortar 'layers between adjacent horizontal"faces` of units of the veneer Wall, and a. plurality of vertically spaced bonding members embedded in said mortar layers `and attached toy spaced portions of said vertical rod'.
3. In a building construction, an inner Wall having a vertical groove in its outer face, an elongated vertical rod' formed with olf-set portions, the off-set portions being disposed Within said groove and' secured to said inner Wall, and the entire vertical rod portion being spaced slightly throughout its length from surfaces ofthe Wall dei-ningth'e groove, an'- outer veneer Walhanda bonding member anchored between adj acent units of the veneer Wall andv quickly attachably and vertically adjust-ably engaging saidjvertical rod Within the groove. .4.
