A baby carrier for automobiles comprising, a collapsible crib, means for suspend ing a side of the crib from a seat of the automobile, a U-shaped bar adapted to be pivoted to the floor of the automobile and having its cross member positioned above the crib, the side members of said bar consisting of sec tions, means adj'ustably connecting the sections, means for suspending the other side of the crib from said cross member, and adju'stable means independent of the crib and connected to the seat and bar for holding the bar against movement in one direction.

3. A baby carrier for automobiles comprising,'a collapsible crib, elastic means for suspendin a side of the crib from a seat, a U-shaped ar adapted to be" pivoted to the floor of the automobile and having its cross member positioned above the crib, elastic means for suspending the other side of the crib from said member, means independent of the crib and connected to the seat and bar for holding the latter against movement in one direction, said crib and cross bar being adapted. to be folded against the seat, and an element connected to the seat for holding said parts in folded condition against the seat.
