- An attachment for a razor comprising a frame, a reflector pivotally mounted in said frame, a lamp secured to said frame, in combination with a safety razor adapted to detachably receive said frame between the blade and clamping members on one side and the handle on the other side whereby the free end of the pivoted reflector will engage the convex surface of thefouter razor clamp.

My invention relates more particularly to reflect-ing and illuminating attachments used a simple, convenient, efficient and economical attachment for razors, which is adapted to illuminate the surface 'of the face being shaved, thereby eliminating the usual strain upon the eyes.
My invention consists in providing an attachment comprising a detachable frame.
adapted to support a mirror or reliecting 'surface preferably pivotally mounted whereby light is reflected uponthe surface being shaved, and also supporting thereabove an electric light for the purpose of intensifying ,thelight reflection from the mirror upon 'the'surface being shaved.
My invention also consists in the peculiar construction, combination, location and arrangement of parts as herein set forth and claimed.

Fig. 7 is a front view of a person in the act of -shaving with .a safety razor having my attachment thereon, said 'person looking into a mirror before him where the light from the attachment is increased and intensified by the reflector and lamp, and the intensifying light from the reflector and lamp eliminates his turning of the head to an acute angle, thereby minimizing the eye strain. have illustrated my attachment as applied to the well-known Gillette type of safety razor whichis provided 'with handle 16 having a screw-threaded socket 17 in its reduced end.
ln order to apply my attachment thereto, simply unscrew the threaded stem 18 of clamping member 19, thereby permittingthe removal of the razor head comprising the clamping member 20,-razor -blade 21 vand clamping member 19, whereupon my attachment is applied in position'on the up er or stem 18 is inserted through orifice 3 and screwedl into thescrew-threaded socket 17, as shown 1n Fig. 2, whereupon the razor is ready for use with my attachment thereon.
When using'my invention upon a Gillette and 5* pass through orifices 4 and 5, respectively, thereby serving to hold the frame from turning eliv upon threaded -stein 18. However, said attachment may be applied to other forms of razors in which said pins areromitted, thus on the market.
The reflecting surface of the-:mirror v11 is i on the concave side' thereof and the free end of said mirror engages the convex surface of razor clamping member 19, thereby holdin it in the desiredposition for reflecting an intensifying the light upon the surface being shaved." v 4 It will thusbe seen that the reflection of the light upon the surface beingshaved ad also the intensifying of said light by he electric lamp serves to minimize the strain of the eyes in the'eort to prevent accident in the delicate operation of shaving.
The electric bulb may of, say, one or two candle power and a suitable battery maybe used or, if desired, a transformer maybe. inserted between' the usual source of electric supply and the bulb.

n win be understood that my invention is capable of modification without departure from the scope or spirit thereof as defined in the claims, and that whileit isspecially adapted and intended for use in connection with safety razors, as set forth, l desire it to be understood that it may also be applied and used in connection' with the old-time straight razors, and that when so used 1t A falls within the terms 'of my invention as defined in the claims.
What l claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. An attachment for a razor comprislng a rectangular frame having an orifice therein, a reflector pivotally mounted in said frame, a lamp secured to said frame, in combination with a safety razor adapted to detachably receive said frame between the blade and clamping members on one side and the handle on the other side whereby the free end of the pivoted reflector will engage the convex surface of the outer razor clamp.
2. An attachment for a razor comprising a rectangular frame provided with a base having an orifice centrally disposed therethrough ard having inclined uprights provided with inwardly extending parts each having a lug thereon, a reflector having pintles thereon adapted to be mounted and supported by said uprights, and an electric lamp having its socket secured to and between said lugs, substantially as set forth and for the purposes specified.

An attachment for a razor comprising a frame provided with a base having a plurality of orifices therethrough and havlng a reflecting surface and lamp thereon, in conlbination with a razor having a threaded stem and locating pins adapted to enter said orifices and to be detachably held between hedend of the razor handle and the razor iea Y 4. An attachment for ra safety razor l1av-A ing a razor head and handle, said attachment comprising a frame provided with a base detachably mounted between the razor head and handle, said frame extending upwardly away from said handle be ond the mounted on said frame above said reflectorv and razor head and adapted to continually throw light rays therefrom onto said refleetor and onto the surface being shaved. 6. An attachment for a safety razor having a razor head and handle, said attachment comprising a frame detachably mount-` ed adjacent the razor head and in fixedvrelation thereto, a concave reector pivotally mounted within said -frame and adapted to swing into engagement with the convex surface of the razor head, and a lamp mounted on said frame above said redactor and above the convex surface of said head whereby direct and reflected rays of light are continually thrown upon the surface being shaved.
7. An attachment for a razor comprising a frame, a reflector pivotally mounted in said frame, a lamp secured to said frame, in combination with a safety razor adapted to detachably receive said frame between the blade and clamping members on one side and the handle on the other side whereby the free end of the pivoted reflector will engage the convex surface of thefouter razor clamp.
