This invention relates to a massaging element adapted for forming a cap for an oint-. ment bottle, and concerns itself primarily with the interior structure of the ointment feeding nipples for providing a proper feeding of the ointment and preventing clogging of the nipples.

The invention comprises the novel structure hereinafter described and more particularly pointed out and defined in the appended claims.

In the accompanying drawings which illustrate a preferred form of this invention and in which similar reference numerals refer to similar features in the different views:

In referring to thedrawing, the reference numeral 1 refers to an ointment bottle having a threaded neck upon which the massaging element which is in the form of a rubber disk is seated and secured by an internally threaded rin 3 screwed u n the neck of the bottle an having an inwardly directed annular flange 3 overlapping the outer circumferential margin of the disk.

The rubber-disk is formed with u wardly extending solid rojections 4 whlch are also of rubber and sufliciently flexible to massage the scalp or bod of a person. The disk is also formed wit ointment feeding nipples 5 which arepreferably located within the confines of the massaging projections. In the past, these ointment feeding'nipples have been provided with restricted perforations which would close or becomeclogged 4 as the nipples were rubbed over the scalp.

To overcome this objection I have provided enlarged perforations or ducts 6 in the outer portions of the nipples 5. These enlarged duct-s extend substantially throughout the portions of the nipples that are likely to e flexed. The enlarged ducts terminate in a restricted passa-ge7 located substantially below the flexing part of'the nipple. The restricted passages 7 communicate with an enlarged lower duct 8 similar to the duct 6. which extends through-the lower surface of the disk. This enlarged lower duct is provided for preventing the same from closing through the flexing of the massaging el ment.

It will be appreciated-that while the restricted ortion 7 of the passage through the nipp es determines the amount of ointment fed therethrdugh, the lower and upper enlarged portions 8 and 6 of such passage assure the continual flow of ointment.

I am aware that numerous details of construction may be varied through a wide range without departing from the principles of this 'invention,- and I therefore do not purpose limiting the gatent granted otherwise than necessitated y the prior art.

I claim as my invention:

1. A massaging element comprising a disk having a flexible ointment feeding nipple provided with a passa e having upper and lower enlargements and an intermediate restricted portion, said restricted portion being formed in an integral part of the nipple separating the enlargements.

2. massage element comprising a flexible disk having a plurality of ointment feeding nipples, each nipple having an upper bore and an enlarged'lower bore, said bores being separated by an integral part of the nipple. and said part being provided with a restricted passage said bores.
