LIGHT DEFLECTOR.
Application filed February To all lwhom t may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK K. Run), a citizen of the United States, residing at Alva, in the county of Woods and State ot Oklahoma, have invented new and useful Improvements in Light Deliectors, oi' which the following is a specification.
This invention is a light reflector for rooms and its principal object is to provide a light reflector whichv will diffuse and reflect the sun to the ceiling ofa root of a building instead of permitting the sun to shine directly upon the floor.
A further object of the invention is to provide a reflector which can be adjusted to reflect the desired amount ot light as well as to concentrate the light at any particular spot upon the ceiling.
Still another object of the invention is to provide a light reflector of this character which will not interfere with the opening or closing of the window to control the ventilation into the latter.
lVith the preceding and other objects and advantages in view, the invention consists in the novel combination of elements, arrangements oi parts and operations, to be specifically referred to, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a vertical sectional View of a room and window embodying my improved light reflector.
Figure 2 is a longitudinal sectional view of the reflecting and diffusing glass.
Figure 3 is a detail sectional view taken on line 3-3 of Figure 1.
)referring to the drawings in detail wherein corresponding characters ot reference denote corresponding parts throughout the several views, the numeral 5 designates a school, office room or the like equipped with vertical movable windows 6 with the usual shade curtains 7. This curtain 7 is mounted at the upper end of the lower sash and is adapted to normally overlie this lower sash.
A rectangular frame 10 is hinged to the window frame at a point slightly above the shade curtain mounting as indicated at 11 and suported within this 'frame is a mirror 1Q, having an irregular inner surface 13 the purpose of which is to diffuse the light rays reflected thereon from the sun as shown.

The frame 10 also includes spacing elements 14 which are arranged upon the under face of the reflecting mirror and supported within the traine 10.
A channel shaped casing ,15 is mounted upon the window frame atY one side thereot' and is provided with laterally extending ears 16 for securing the same to the window frame. This casing is provided with a vertical slot 17 and a series of corrugations or seats 18 thatare spaced as shown. A linl; 19 is pivoted to one end of the frame 10 as illustrated and has its opposite end extended through the slot 17 and is vertically adjustable therein. A transverse pin 20 is carried by the limer end ot the link 1S) and is adapted to be accommodated in any one of the seats or corrugations 18 for the purpose of holding the frame and mirror 13 at anv desired angle to concentrate the light rays as desired. i
In the operation of the invention the light rays from the sun will shine upon the irregular surface 121 as indicated in broken lines and thence be reflected upwardly onto the ceiling of the roon'i and then downward ly into the room. The irregular surface serves to fulcrum or diffuse the light rays and hence prevent glare. Y
While I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of` the invention, I desire to have it understood that such changes may be made in the form, construction and arrangement of parts and operations as will not depart trom the spirit ot the invention or the scope ot the subjoined claim.
1V hat is claimed is The combination with a structure having a window, of a. reflecting glass arranged at one side of the window and capable of being arranged at any desired angle to refiect sun rays onto the ceiling of a room, means for supporting the reflect-ing mirror at various angles, such means including` a vertically arranged casing having a longitudinal slot'aiid a series ot transerse seats, a link connected with the mirror and having one end passed into the slot and a pin carried by the link and engageable with any one ot the seats.
