Referring now to the drawing 1 repre sents the front wall of a huildingand 2 the door opening; which asshoivn is of con'-' siderable width," requiring five door sections to close the same. On the'insideof thefront wall of the building above the door wayor opening is arranged the horizontal track 3 which has-theend 4 extending loeyond the door openi'ngand the opposite end terminating a short distancefrom'the' opposlteend of the door opening, as indicated at 5. The doorsect'ionl0fhas secured to the inner face at the upperedge second hanger 19 whichis constructed e actly like the hanger 18 exceptthat the coir neetiiigarni ofthe two pivot's'is' flongeras rolls on the floor'of the 'bnil'd'ing and forms an" additional suppiirt "for't hej door sections to prevent them from sagging "and; touching the floor. The door sections 8, 9 and 10 are provided at their upper ends with bolts 21, 22 and 23 which brace the door when closed and will, relieve the door sections of any undue strain brought on the same. The door sections 8 and 10 may also have bolts 2 1- and 25 at their lower ends to further relieve the door sections of any undue strains, ei ther from the inside or outside. The section 11 may have a pivoted latch or any desired fastening means 26 for locking the said sect on against inward movement. This fastening means is adaptedto be operated from the inside or out-side of the building as is readily understood.
The door hangers 18 and 19} are of the form shown in Figures 3 and 4 of the drawings, and each consists of the plate 27 having openings by means of which, it is either screwed or boltedto the door section and carrying at its upper end the pivot 28 upon which is mounted the arm 29, and carried by the outer end of the arm is a bearing 30 rotatably mounted upon the stud 31.
-' This stud is supported by a carriage 32 rolling within the tubular track 3 whereby the door sections not only move longitudinally on the track but are allowed to told on their hinges with respect to each other. The hinges between the door sections'being arranged as heretofore described, allows every other door section to fold in the opposite direction as fully shown in Figure 2 of the drawings. As heretofore described the two hangers 18 and 19 are constructed exactly alike with one exception and that is the arm 88 of the hanger 19 islonger than the arm 34 of the hanger 18 whereby provision is made for the thicknesses of the several sections of the door. This long arm 33 of the hanger 19 allows the section 10 to swing in a suflicient distance to lie flat against the door section 9 In operation the door sections operate as a single door that is, it is only necessary to push on the door section 11 and the several sections break joint at their hinged edges and at the same time the whole door moves longitudinally on the track, and the door sections one by one will fold over against each other parallel to the inner wall of the building, where they are completely out of the way and take up very little room.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and dessire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. In a door construction, the combination with a track, of a series otjdoor sections hinged together, one end section hinged to a permanent support, a hanger connected to one of the intermediatedoor sections and traveling on the track, and a second hanger connected to one of the other door sections and traveling on the track and constructed to allow all of the door sections to fold around against each other beyond the permanent support at one side of the door opening.
2. In a door construction, the combination with a track, of a series of door sections hinged together, one end section hinged to a permanent support, a hanger connected to one of the intermediate door sections and traveling on the track, and a second hanger connected to one of the other door sections and traveling on the track and constructed to allow all of the-door sections to fold around against each other beyond the permanent support, at one side of the door openingand a roller carried by one of the intermediate sections and rolling on the floor.
3. In a doorconstruction, the combination with a track, of a series of door sections hinged together, one end section hinged to a permanent support, a hanger .pivotally connected to one of the intermediate door sections and traveling on the track, and a second hanger pivotally connected to one of the other door sections and traveling on the track and constructed to allow all of the .door sections to fold around against each other beyond the permanent support.
4;. In a door construction, the combination with a track, of a series of door sections hinged together, one end section hinged to a permanent support, a hanger traveling on the track and having a-pivoted arm pivotally connected to one of the intermediate door sections, a second hanger traveling on the track and having a pivoted arm longer than the pivoted arm of the first hanger and pivotally connected to one of the door sections beyond the first hanger, whereby all of the door sections can fold around on each other beyond the permanent support.
5. In a door construction, the combination with a track, of a series of door sections hinged together, one end section hinged to a permanent support, a hanger traveling on the track and having a pivoted arm pivotally connected, to one of the intermediate llO door sections, a second hanger traveling on the. track and having a pivoted arm longer than the pivoted arm of the first hanger and pivotally connected to the door-section next tothe last from 'the permanent support, whereby all of the door sections can fold around on each other beyond the permanent by all of the door sections can fold around I on eachother beyond the permanent support.
7. In a door construction, the combination with a single track, of a series of door sections hinged together, one end section hinged to a permanent support, two hangers traveling on said track and connected to different door sections and constructed to allow all of the door sections to fold around on each other beyond the permanent support.
8. In a door construction, the combinat-ion with a single track, of a series of door sections hinged together, one end section hinged to a permanent support, two hangers traveling on said track and having arms of different lengths connected to different door sections, whereby all of the door sections can fold around on each other beyond the permanent support.
9. In a door construction, the combination with tracks having a series of supports along its length, of a series of door sections hinged together, one end section hinged to a permanent support, a hanger traveling on the track and having a'pivoted arm connected to one of the intermediate door sec tions, a second hanger traveling on the track between tWo of the different supports and having a pivoted arm longer than the pivoted arm of the first hanger and pivotally connected to one of the other door sections be yond the first hanger, whereby all of the door sections can fold around on each other beyond the permanent support.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
PHILIP LANG.
