To all whom it may concern:
7 Be it known that we, EDWARD R. June and LOUIS MINNIOK, citizens of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Knife and Scissors Sharpeners, of which the following is a specification.
Our invention relates toimprovements in knife and scissors Sharpeners, and one object is to produce a simple device of this character which can be usedby an unskilled per-' son with good results.
Another object is to provide a sharpener justed into the use from time to time as they wear away from use. I v
Another object is toprovide suitable guides for directing a knife or pair of scissors into proper relation with the abrading disks, so that practically anyone will be able to bring the object being sharpened into contact with said disks to the best advantage. A further object is to provide a device of this character which can be manufactured at relatively small cost and is not likely to get out of order.
With the above and other objects in view, reference will now be had to the accompany ingr drawing, in which:

In carrying out the invention, we employ a bracket 2, having a pair of rearwardly projecting arms 4 and 6, respectively, the arm 6 being provided with a thumb-screw 8, which coacts with the arm 4 in holding the bracket 2 upon a. support, such as a table, bench, etc. 4

The screw 20 extends through a slot 24 in the bracket 2, so that the disk 18 can be moved closer to the disk 10 to take up wear. 26 designates a V-shaped guide in the 013 posite side of the bracket 2 containing the guide 16. I Said guide 26 is adapted to coact with the disk 18 in sharpening-knives. 1 The edges 27 and 29 of the grooves 16 and 26 are p beveled to hold the knives in proper relation to the disks 10 and 18, respectively. 7 The operation is. as follows: In sharpening a pair of scissors, one blade is placed against one side of the guide 15 and then drawn j back and forth across the disk 10 until sharpened, after which'the other blade is sharpened in alike manner, the beveled edges 17 of the guide 15 holding the respective blades in proper relation to the disk 10.
