Description

Apr. 3.1923 1,450,397. `L M. WEBER (NOW BY DEGREE 0F DIVORCE L. M. CASE).

ff'aten'ted Apr. 3, 1923.
S'PES LEONA M. WEBER, NOW BY DEGREE OF DIVORCE LEONA M. CASE, OF PORTLAND, OREGON.
CHILD S VEHICLE.
Application led January 16, 1922. Serial No. 529,801.
To all whom t m ray concern.'
Be it hereby known that I, LEONA M. lWnenn, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Fortland, in the county of Multnomah and State of Oregon, have invented a new and useful Childs Vehicle, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates more particularlyY to vehicles for conveying children, dolls, etc.
The objects of this inifention are to provide an exceedingly simple and efhcient vehicle capable of being utilized as a bed, cai'- riage or high chair.
l accomplish these results in the manner set forth in the following specification and. illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which:
Figure l is a side elevation of the device of which Figure 2 is a plan and Figure 3 a front elevation. Figure 4 is a side elevation showing the device used as a high chair or a conveyance. Y i
bimilar numbers of reference refer to the same or similar parts throughout the several views.
feferring in detail to the drawings` l have constructed my device of two side meinbcrs l0 separated by a partition ll hav'ng one end l2 hinged at 13. At one end of the side members l() is a foot board 14 and at its other end a head board l5 on the outside o5 which are secured the tivo axles 16 and 17 to which are attached the wheels 18 and lfnder the hinge 13 is partition 2O at right angles to the partiton 1l and still another partition 2l joining the partition 2O and eX tending` beyond the foot board let- An aXie 22 is attached to the under side of the member 21 and carries the wheels 23. Cleats A are secured to the inner sides of the members l0 in order to support the hinged member l2. A pair of arms 25 are joined by means of the bolts 26 to the side members l0 and rest against the hubs 27 of the wheels 19. A cross bar 28 joins the two arms 25.
The operation of my device is as follows: Then desiring to use the device as a baby carriage it is placed in the position shown in Figure l lwith the hinged member as illus tra-ted in that figure in which case the child or doll may lie upon the members 1l and l2 or may be seated with its back against the head board l5. The arms 25 are used .+o push the vehicle.
-`When desiring to use the device as a high chair or a raised vehicle the arms are raised as indicated and the member l2 is dropped to permit the child to sit upon the member 2O wth its back against the mcmber 2l.
it will be seen that l have constructed an exceedingly simple device capable of a variet-y of uses without requiring difficult or complicated adjustments of an;r kind.
i am aware that numerous devices of this nature have been constructed; I therefore do not claim same broadly but only within the limits set forth in the followingr claims.
What I claim is:
l. In combination, a vehicle having two. side frames, a ioor between said side frames, a foot board atone end of said iioor, a pair of wheels attached to said side frames under said foot board, a head board at the opposite end of said ioor, and two pairs of wheels attached to said side frames on the outer side of said head board.
2. In combination, a vehicle having a pair of side frames, a floor between said side frames, a hinged section at one end of said floor, a. curved foot board in front of said hinged section, a foot rest under said hinged section, a wall adjoining said foot rest and floor, a pair of wheels attached to an axle lunder said foot rest, a head board across the opposite end of said floor between said frames having two -pair of wheel members secured thereto, and a folding handle attached to said side frames.
LEONA M. WEBER.
