To all 10 7mm it may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE W. Conen'rr, citizen of the United States, residing at Sioux Falls, in the county of Minnehaha and State of South Dakota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Concrete-Column Forms, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in concrete building forms, and relatesparticularly to forms used in concrete construction work.
The primary object of the invention is to provide a form which is constructed and assembled'withoutthe aid of bolts having nuts, and which can be adjusted to form posts of difierent heights. Y
A further object of the invention is to provide a form of simple and economical constructions which can be cheaply produced and easily and quickly assembled and knocked-down. 1
Other and further objects will be later set forth and of themselves manifested'in the course of the following description.

In proceeding in accordance with the present invention, the form is constructed of a series of telescoping sections 1, each section being formed in two parts and having lateral abutting flanges 2, the free sides of the flanges being turned outwardly at right angles at 3, as depicted in Figs. 1, 2 and 3, thereby forming channels. of holding the sections against spreading movement angle bars 4, are employed having slotted bolts 5 secured thereto, the angle bars conformably engagingin the channels of the sections 1, and being shaped to brace against the latter so as to prevent bulging upon pouring of the concrete or grout. Similar angle bars 6, are secured in the channels opposite to those in which the bars 4 are secured and have apertures through which the bolts 5, pass, the bolt slots receiving For the purpose wedges 7 which latter impinge against the and formed adjacent the hinged points with T cut-outs 10, to receive the flanges 2 and 3. The free or. opposite ends of the sections 8, 8, are formed with straight edges 11, which abut the flanges 2, similar to straight edges 12, which abut the flanges 2, adjacent the hinged ends of the sections. whichlatter are received over the arms 13. '1 he outer sides 'of'the arms 13 are inclined and relatively diverge toward the center f 'of the form, so that the connecting bars can be wedged'into engagement with the arms to tightlydraw the clamp sections 8, into engagementwith the sections 1.

and support the flange 22, of the top form and are secured to the latter by means of bolts 24. I p In cases where it'is desired to form a beam lntegral with or attached to the top of the column, the form depicted in Figs. 5 and 6,
is employed, the same embodying a circular,
body 30 split at 3l,'so 'as to be capable of insertion or telescopingin the top of the 7 column form, and provided with flanges 31', and 32. The beam form is inserted in the top section of the column form withv its flanges 31 received between the flanges 4' or 6 of the column form, and the angle bars flanges 31 of the beam form as disclosed in connection with the column form. The bellshape form of top can be used with the top of the column form by insertion therein if desired.
The parts can be thus easily and quickly knocked-down and compactly nested for shipment or storage, due to the two part nesting formation of the sections. Further, the sections 1 can be adjusted vertically and secured by the hinged clamps to obtain columns of varying heights.
What is claimed is:
1. In a concrete form, telescopic sections, each consisting of two mating parts, each part having an outwardly extending flange at each side thereof, the outer sides of the flanges being turned outwardly at right angles to form channels, angle bars in the channels abutting the sections to brace the latter, slotted bolts extending through the angle bars and flanges, wedges extending through the slots of the bolts and impinging against the adjacent angle bars, clamps consisting of hinged sections having parts received in the channels and having tapered arms at their free sides, slotted bars wedged over the tapered arms, said arms having rows of perforations, and tapered pins engaged through the perforations and abutting the slotted bars to hold the latter in place.
2. In a concrete form, telescopic sections,
each consisting of two mating parts, each against the adjacent angle bars, clamps consist-lng of hinged sectlons havlng parts received 1n the channels and having tapered arms at their free sides, slotted-bars wedged means to hold said device in its said wedged engagement with the tapered part.

5. In a concrete form, telescopic sectlons, each consisting of two matlng parts, clamps consisting of hinged sections engaged round the mating parts and having'arms at their free sides which arms have tapered outer parts which converge outwardly of the form, slotted bars wedged over the tapered parts and having the outer end walls formed by the slots directly engaged with the tapered outer parts, and means to hold the bars in wedged engagement with said tapered parts.
