Description

M. WEISEL GARMENT.
APPLICATION man JULY 14.1916.
1,238,070 Patented Aug. 21, 1917.
65 We wwwifoz MOSES WEISEL, OF NORFOLK, VIRGINIA.
GARMENT.
Specification of Letters Eatent.
Patented Aug. 21, 1917.
Application filed July 14, 1916. Serial No. 109,299.
To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, Mosns Wnrsnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Norfolk, in the county of Norfolk and State of that was exposed may be changed to another with ease and quickness.
Further objects and advantages will be more fully described herein and specifically pointed out in the annexed claim recourse being had to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification 1n which:
Figure 1 is a front view of the blouse with the collar turned up. Fig. 2 is the upper front portion of the garment with the collar and its lapels detached, and Fig. 3 is a front view of the blouse collar and lapels removed 1 from the garment and is shown spread out.
In the drawing like reference numerals indicate similar parts in all the several views. 1 is a body portion of'the blouse, 2 are the sleeves, and 3 is a pocket, as in the usual 4, Fig. 2, is the neck or collar band attached to or forming a part of the body portion 1 and is provided with straps 5 for a tie or scarf, also two buttons 6 on the inner portion, said buttons being arranged so that one is on each side of the vertical dotted line A.
In this manner the buttons cannot cause soreness at the nape of the neck as in the case where a single button in the center is used.
7 is a V shaped opening in the front of the blouse body and is covered by the hereinafter named lapels.
8 are eyelets atthe lower portion of the blouse near the apex of the V shaped opening 7. Said eyelets are adapted to come in alinement with the hereinafter described eyelets of the collar 9 and by means of a tie or lacing the two are held together.
9 indicates the detachable lapel bearing collar, said lapels being shown at 10 and are adapted to fold over and form a finish for the open space 7, Fig. 2, at the breast or front portion of the blouse and is indicated at 10 in Fig. 3.
11 is a semi-elliptic neck pad or collar flap sewed to the collar 9 and is provided with button holes 12, Fig. 3, by which the collar is secured to the neck band by the buttons 6.
The portion 11 is shown turned up in Fig. 3 while the dotted lines 13 show the same turned down when in use.
14 are eyelets by which the collar is fastened to the body portion 1 at the breast by means of a string or lacing 15 passing through the eyelets 8 and 14. and tied into a bow knot, as shown.
By my invention I am enabled to make, not only the collar, but the lapels thereof reversible and also to make use of the tie 15 so that it.will form an element of the device whereas in the ordinary blouse it is only an ornament and does not perform any function. By the lapels forming a part of the collar itself, it makes a more attractive garment.
Theblouse may be worn in three ways, that is to say by changing from one color to another and without the collar and lapels.
I claim:
In a garment, a collar therefor having lapels formed thereon adapted to be detached and reversed at will, eyelet and lacing tie means for securing the lower portion of the lapels to the body portion of the garment, and button fastening means for said collar above the said eyelet and lacing fastening means on each side of a vertical center line through the neck or collar band.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
MOSES WEISEL.
Witnesses A. J. Busnr, II. J Bu sar.
