To ali whom i may concern.'
Be it known that 1, NioLA CoLoMYJozUK, a subject of the Emperor of Austria-Hungary, residing at South Porcupine, in the Province of Ontario and Dominion of Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ordnance, of which the following is a specicaton.
This invention relates to certain vnew and useful improvements in ordnance.
The primary object of this invention is the provision of cannon adapted for hurling' an unfolding missile in a substantially horizontal direction whereby a-large area may be covered at a single discharge of the device during its operation.
A further object of the device is the provision of a cannon having two shooting bores whereby separate missiles are hurled forward together with a connector adapted for unfolding during the diver-ging path of travel of the said missiles.
A still further object of the device is the provision of a cannon having diverging bores for divergently projecting missiles while a normally folded connector is carried by the said missiles adapted to` be forwardly assisted'by means of an auxiliary iiring chamber.
In the drawings forming a part of this application and in which like designating characters refer to corresponding parts throughout the several viewsz'- Figure 1 is a central longitudinal sectional view of the device.
Fig.'9 is an enlarged elevational view of the muzzle'end of the gun.

The present device,contemplates a cannon Speeication of Letters Patent.

10 having a powder chamber 11 and any desirable form of breech block 12 adapted .for igniting the powder or explosive 13 arranged within the said chamber. An ovalshaped recess 14 is provided in the forward I end of the gun while two forwardly divergmg bores 16- communicate between theA said chamber 11 and recess 111.
From this detailed description of the device it will be understood that the gun is loaded for operation as .illustrated in Fig. 1, the missiles 17 being forced into the ends of the bore 1G and the connector 19 wedgingly retained within the depression 20. Upon igniting the charge 13 the projectiles 1S will be fired through' the bores 16, striking the missiles 17 and seating the reduced forward ends 27 of the projectiles within the central recess 28 et' the missiles. The projectiles and missiles are thereby united both moving forwardly upon diverging lines car- #rying the connector l0 therewith unfolding during the constant separation'of the said missiles. The iiring of the explosive l5 is connnunicated through the bore Q3 for eX- ploding the explosive Q5. within the auxiliary chamber Q2 whereby the disk 24 is projected exerting further impelling force upon the connector 19. The inter-engagement between the projectiles 18 and missiles 17 may be omitted if desired in which event thereof, readily attached in this manner to the misj the impact of said projectiles upon the missiles is sufficient to impel the llatter forwardly. The gun '10 being arranged substantially horizontalrand upona line with the enemy, the missiles 17 and connector 19 will form a manner of death-dealing member of considerable length.
` Vhen the form of the device illustrated in. Fig. 4, the cannon 29 is provided with a firing chamber 30 provided with an explo sive 31 adapted for ignition by any means such as a fuse member 32, the said cannon having forwardly diverging bores 33 connecting the chamber 30 with a recess 34 in Missiles of theform.

The aforesaid missile 17 is illustrated in Figs. 5 and 6 of the drawings as having a pointed forward end 36 and is adaptedfor mounting the rubber ring 21 thereon to which a connecting chain 35 may be attached, ,the4 missile-17 I having the said axial bore 28. The rubber collar 2l is provided with a depending flange 36 adapted for seating within an annular socket 37 in the shoulder 38 of the missile 17 when the ring is forced downwardly thereover and seated upon the reducedcylindrical forward end vportieri 39 the connecting member being siles when desired.
It will be seen that a serviceable gun is arranged which having only two `firing bores is adapted for projecting a combined missile with the killing properties of many times that number of missiles.
1. A cannon having divergent bores, an explosive discharging chamber at the converging ends of the said bores, missiles operatively arranged within the said bores, a foldable elongated connector secured to the said missiles, a disk upon which the said connector is pc 1iltioned,.the said gun having an auxiliary explosion chamber beneath the said diss; and provided with an auxiliary bore connecting the said chanbers whereby the explosive within the said 'chambers is fired substantially simultaneously upon the operation of the device.
2. A' cannon having an explosive chamber'at the breech end thereof and a transa narrare verse recess at its muzzle end, and with forwardly diver-ging bores connecting the said chamber and recess, the muzzle of the gun being further provided with a depression between the said bores, projectiles in the rear ends of the said bores, missiles fitted within the forward ends of the bores, and a A folded position within the said depression,
the said projectiles having reduced forward ends, the said missiles having axial recesses adapted for the engaging reception with the adjacent ends/ofthe said projectiles when the gun is lired.
` 4. A cannon having an explosive chamber at the breech end thereof and a transverse recess at its muzzle end and with forwardly diverging bores connecting the said chamber and recess, the muzzlel of the gun being further provided. with a depression between the said bores, projectiles in the rear ends of the said bores, missiles fitted within thetforward ends of the bores, a flexible metallic connector secured to the said missiles and normally arranged in folded position within the said depression, the said gun being provided with an auxiliary chamber having explosive opening into the said depression yand having an axial bore connecting the said auxiliary chamber and the vbreech chamber7 and a disk between the said auxiliary chamber and ilexible connector whereby a forward impulse is exerted upon the said missiles and its connector substantially simultaneously during the firing of the gun.
5. A cannon having an explosive chamberat the breech end thereof and a transverse recess at its muzzle end and with forwardly diverging bores connecting the said chamber and recess, the muzzle ofthe gun being further provided with a depression between the said bores, projectiles in the rear ends of the said bores, missiles fitted within the forward ends of the bores, and a flexible metallic connector secured to the said missiles and normally arranged in foldedV position within the saiddepression, the said projectiles having reduced forward ends, the saidf missiles having axial recesses adapted for the engaging reception with the adjacent ends of the said projectiles when the gun is tired7 the said gun being provided withian auxiliary chamber having explosive opening into the said depression and having an axial bore connecting the said auxiliary chamber and the breech chamber, and a disk betweenthe said auxiliary cham- NICLA COLOMYJCZUK.
