Tocllebk'oni itmafq a oncerhx, v a a I Be it knownthat I, LEWIS A. SArroRn,
citizen of the United States, residing at Buffalo, in-the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented a a new and useful Improvement in .Childrens Cribs and the like, ofwhichthe following is aspecificatlon. i
This invention relates toimprovelnents in childrens cribs of that kind whichhave vertically sliding sidesor siderailings adapted to be lowered. from their normalqelevated position to facilitateiplacinga child in and taking it from the crib, and particularlyto such icribsin which the sliding sides are provided at their ends with clutches or holding devices which cooperate withthe guides for the sliding sides for holding the sides up in the positions to which they may be raised.
One object of this invention is to provide means of practical and desirable constructionwhereby the clutches or holding devices at the opposite ends: of the sliding side can be readily operated by onehand, thus enablinga person holdinga child in one'arm to readily. raiseand secure or release and .lower the side of 1thecrib with the other hand. Other objects; ofthe invention are to produce a holding orsecuring mechanism of a this sort-twhichvis of such constructionthat it can be applied Itothecribat smallexpense and withthe minimum amount of fit tingor adjusting 30f the ;parts, but-will be reliablein operation andjwill at the same time be convenient for operationpand not be cumbersome or unsightly inappearance and also to attach the guide rods for thesliding sides to the crib frame, by. simple and convenient meanswhich will permit the guide rods to shift relatively to the frameto adapt themselves to difierencesqor inaccuracies in .the cribs incident to manufacture. 1 1, 5 Inthe accompanying drawingsz- Figure 1 is a side levation of a crib; erhbodying the invention. 1
