Application filed November-5, 1913.
Specification of Letters Patent,

Serial No. /SQE/.
.of the @olif clubs carried therein.
i A further object thereof is 'to produce a bag,` of said character adapted to rigidly retain the shape of its base and resist the destructive wear oi. the pressure and grind of the ends of the clubs carried thereinu Another object thereof is to produce a bag for golf clubs having; a bottoni formed ot rigid parts adapted to be conveniently assembled and secured upon the base the bag, and a still further object et my invention is to produce a more simple, cheap and eiiicient bag of said character thanhas here tofore been attained.
To these ends, my invention includes the combination and arrangement of component parts tobe hereinafter described and more particularly pointed out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawings, in' which like reference. characters indicate similar parts, Figure l is a perspective view of a bag for golf clubs comprising my invention; Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional View of the saine, and Fig. 3 is a persi'iective vieiv or" the parts thereof disassembled.
In said drawings, 1 indicates a flexible bag of tubular form inade of leather, canvas or othersuitable fabric, the lower ond of which is closed with a piece of fabric 2 stitched to the tubular bagv adjacent its lower edge, and with the free edge 8 thereof turned outwardly, thus forming a short annular iiange 4 beneath the saine. it is obvious that an unsupported bottom of such character would not retain its shape or sustain the strain and -Wear of bearing a plurality of golf clubs therein. For the purpose oi supn plying adequate support, provide an annular disk 5 adapted to fit snugly in the bag above the fabric bottoni 2, and to press the lower end of the bag into circular tornin Said disk is preferably made. of Wood, and may be provided with an annular groove a .the flanged nieta .embrace 'the outer face ot ti in its circular scribed.
Un the base of the hay secure the disleshaped tia; el Said base comprises the en cular plate ing the annular groove o recess n' adjai its peripl'iery in which tl i bange 1l.- end oi the bag is seated ivlfiei'i 0n the outer edge of the pla'v the upturned annular i'iange y au.

The combination ia/'ithv a lubniar bag of iexi ble material, of a flexible heb nn stitched is therein having outltnrned e T n interior lio disk-shaped rigid Hoor itting therein, a metal plate embracing the outer end of the bag having an annular groove adjacent its periphery in which the out-turned edges of the bag are seated, and an annular 11p-turned flange surrounding said late cramping the lower endof the bag on t e periphery of the interior rigidl floor, substantially as described. f
3.- The combination with a tubular bag of flexible material, of a flexible bottom stitched therein having out-turned edges, an interior disk-shaped rigid floor fitting therein having an annular groove on the periphery thereof, a metal plate embracingY the outer 'of the bag and press into the groove on the interior oorz substantially as described.
