Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Jan. 18, 15916.
Application filed January 19,1915. Serial No. 3,190.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BELA ALBRECHT, a subject of the King of Hungary, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Pads for Head- Rests, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to pads for head rests and has as its object to provide a device of this character simple in construction and operation and economic in use;
In the accompanying drawing: Figure 1 is a perspective view of my device as applied .to a barber chair. 2 and 3 are perspective views of the device detached from the chair, showing it from the tront and from the rear, respectively, some parts in the latter figure being broken away and hidden parts shown in dotted lines. l 1g. t is a partly sectional, partly perspective view of a fragment of my device, the section taken on the line H of Fig. 3.
Referring to the drawing, 5 designates the being back of a barber chair of usual construction,
fragmentarily shown, provided with a headrest 6, removably attached to WlllCll is the pad-7, consisting of a cardboard back 8 and ot' a plurality of sheets of tissue-paper such as 9. The cardboard back and the sheets of tissue-paper are held together by means of elastic tapes 10 passed through holes such as 11 punched through the pad at its four corners, and the ends 12 thereof secured to Copies of this patentmay be obtained for the backside of the cardboard 8. A sheet of paper 13 of the required strength is further secured on the backside of the cardboard 8 over the ends 12 of the tapes 10 to hide them from view and keep them fast in place. The tapes 10 are passed through the holes 11 in such a way as to form straps parallel to and near the lateral edges of the pad, at the backside thereof and to overlap the top and bottom edges of the pad, appearing at the front of same only over the margins between said edges and the holes, as is obvious from the drawing. The pad is fastened by these straps to the head-rest of the barber chair and after use the tissue-paper in front is torn away and the next sheet becomes ready for use.
Having thus described my invention,
