Description

光纖連接器用雙夾式總成
本發明大致上有關光纖連接器,且更特別地是有關LC型連接器用之雙夾式總成。
在光纖網路中,信號通常係成對地在一起,一信號用於傳輸及一信號用於接收。其結果是,其通常想要的是具有一總成,其可保持該等連接器成對地在一起及被配置在該適當之極性中。此外,由於該設備之高密度,其亦想要的是能夠不需抵達該連接器外殼地移除連接器,以便壓下該連接器閂扣。
本申請案敘述供使用於輔助一對LC光纖連接器之插入及移除的雙夾式總成之數個實施例。於一實施例中,該總成包括具有罩蓋之夾子本體。該夾子本體具有被建構成鬆弛地夾持一對LC連接器的中心壁面、上翼片、及下翼片,以便允許該夾子本體相對該LC連接器軸向地移動。該罩蓋被建構成當該夾子本體係於向後軸向地相對該LC連接器移動時,嚙合該LC連接器閂扣上之凸輪面。

圖1-7顯示LC雙夾式總成100的第一實施例。該總成包含一對LC連接器101、夾子本體102、及保護罩103。
如在圖3所最佳顯示,該夾子本體102具有藉由中心壁面106所連接的一組上翼片104及一組下翼片105。該組上翼片104係垂直於該中心壁面106及平行於該組下翼片105。該上翼片104及下翼片105被建構成在該中心壁面106之任一側面上鬆弛地夾持該LC連接器101,以便允許該夾子本體相對該LC連接器101軸向地移動。該夾子本體亦具有一罩蓋107。該罩蓋107從該夾子本體102之頂部突出。當該保護罩103及夾子本體102係相對該LC連接器101在軸向朝後方向中移動時,該罩蓋107被建構成嚙合該LC連接器閂扣108上之凸輪表面109。
該保護罩103附著至該夾子本體102,且被設計成鬆弛地圍繞該纜線110,以便允許該保護罩103相對該纜線110及LC連接器101軸向地移動。於圖1-7所示實施例中,該保護罩103經由該夾子本體102及保護罩103上之嚙合部件111、112連接至該夾子本體102。該保護罩103能被由彈性體材料製成,以允許彎頭半徑控制,同時亦允許用於適當之硬度供在連接器移除及插入期間抓握。
如圖6及7中所最佳顯示,相對該LC連接器在軸向 朝後地移動該保護罩103及夾子本體102造成該罩蓋107嚙合該LC連接器閂扣108的凸輪面109,其依序由該通口120脫離該LC連接器101。
圖8-12顯示LC雙夾式總成200的第二實施例。此實施例將中心硬化構件213加至該保護罩203。當壓縮力被施加至該保護罩203時,該中心硬化構件213能幫助防止該保護罩203的內部壁面皺縮在該纜線110上、諸如免於太緊地抓握該保護罩203。如果該保護罩203之壁面被允許皺縮至該纜線110上,該保護罩203及該纜線110之間所建立的摩擦能限制該夾子本體202與該保護罩203之自由軸向動作。該中心硬化構件213能被坐落接近該保護罩203之相向端部,在此該保護罩203連接至該夾子本體202,以便允許該保護罩203伸縮用於彎頭半徑控制。
如圖8-12所示,該保護罩203能經由該夾子本體202及保護罩203上之第二型式的嚙合部件211、212被連接至該夾子本體102。圖8-12所示之嚙合部件211、212允許該保護罩203藉由擠壓該保護罩203之側面來脫離該嚙合部件211、212且接著拉開該保護罩遠離該夾子本體202而從該夾子本體202脫離(特別看圖11及12)。該簡單之移除過程亦允許該連接器101被從該夾子本體202移除,而沒有用工具,且如果需要,從左到右地交換,以便顛倒該雙夾式總成200之極性。
該保護罩203亦可具有隆起的抓握表面214及環狀突出部份215,以輔助抓握該保護罩203。
圖13顯示具有罩蓋307之LC雙夾式總成300的另一實施例,其中該罩蓋的一部份能操作為一手動釋放槓桿316,而允許使用者藉由相對該連接器101朝後移動該保護罩203及夾子本體302、或藉由壓按該手動釋放槓桿316,從其個別之通口脫離該LC連接器閂扣108。
圖14-17顯示LC雙夾式總成400的第四實施例。此實施例可被使用在諸情況中,在此二纖維被包含於單一纜線、諸如雙芯護套纜線中。該總成400包含雙重外殼451、殼蓋452、壓接端套453、保護罩454、及一對LC連接器101。
該雙重外殼451能由二半殼451a、451b所形成,並可具有與該等半殼為一體的主幹455(如圖14所示)、或可為藉由該等半殼451a、451b所捕獲之分開元件。該雙重外殼451被建構成夾持該LC連接器101,以便允許它們相對該雙重外殼451旋轉。該纜線458之光纖456被終止至該該連接器101,且該纜線458之凱夫拉爾(Kevlar)纖維457可經由該壓接端套453被鎖固至該雙重外殼451。
該殼蓋452具有由該頂部突出之罩蓋459,且被建構成鬆弛地夾持該雙重外殼451及LC連接器101,以便允許該殼蓋452相對該LC連接器101及雙重外殼451軸向地移動。該殼蓋452亦可具有環狀突出部份464,以輔助抓握該殼蓋452。
如圖16及17中所最佳顯示,相對該LC連接器101及雙重外殼451軸向朝後地移動該殼蓋452造成該殼蓋 403之罩蓋459嚙合該LC連接器閂扣108上之凸輪面109,其依序允許該LC連接器101由通口120脫離。
如果需要,藉由擠壓該殼蓋452之側面以脫離該底部按扣460、由該雙重外殼451及LC連接器101縮回該殼蓋452、相對該雙重外殼451將該等LC連接器101之每一者旋轉180度、相對該雙重外殼451將該殼蓋452旋轉180度、及將該殼蓋452向前推至該雙重外殼451上,該LC雙重總成400可在現場輕易地被顛倒。
圖18-21顯示LC雙重總成500之第五實施例。此實施例係類似於該第四實施例,除了該殼蓋552之罩蓋559的一部份亦可被用作手動釋放槓桿561以外,以便允許使用者藉由向後相對該連接器移動該殼蓋552或藉由壓按該手動釋放槓桿561之任一者,使該LC連接器101從其個別之通口脫離。於一實施例中,該等手動釋放槓桿561能咬入該罩蓋559的其餘部份上之適當位置。
圖22顯示LC雙重總成600之第六實施例。此實施例具有一殼蓋652,其不具有罩蓋,且不被設計成相對該雙重外殼及連接器軸向地移動。如於其他實施例中,該殼蓋652能被設計,以提供側面支撐及防止該該連接器101轉動。
圖23-24顯示LC雙重總成700之第七實施例。此實施例係類似於該第六實施例,除了其具有一由該殼蓋752之頂部延伸的手動釋放槓桿761以外。
圖25-28顯示LC雙重總成800之第八實施例。此實 施例係亦類似於該第六實施例,除了該殼蓋852具有類似於美國專利第7,632,125號的鎖扣總成870以外,該專利係全部以引用的方式併入本文中。
圖29顯示LC雙夾式總成900的第九實施例。此實施例係類似於該第六實施例,除了該雙重外殼951不允許該連接器101相對該雙重外殼951旋轉以外。
此實施例900亦可藉由從該雙重外殼951縮回該殼蓋652、將每一連接器101滑出該雙重外殼951、相對該雙重外殼951將每一連接器101旋轉180度、將該LC連接器101回頭滑入該雙重外殼951、相對該雙重外殼951將該殼蓋652旋轉180度、及將該殼蓋652回頭滑入該雙重外殼951在現場被輕易地顛倒。

Claims (6)

  1. 一種雙夾式總成,其使用於輔助一對LC光纖插頭連接器之至互補的LC光纖插座連接器中的插入及移除,包括:夾子本體,該夾子本體具有中心壁面、一組上翼片、及一組下翼片,該中心壁面將該對LC光纖插頭連接器分開,該上翼片係垂直於該中心壁面及平行於該下翼片,該中心壁面、該上翼片、及該下翼片被建構成以在該對LC光纖插頭連接器的每一LC光纖插頭連接器與該中心壁面、該上翼片、及該下翼片之間具有間隙的方式鬆弛地夾持該對LC光纖插頭連接器及附著至其上之光纖纜線,使得該夾子本體可相對該LC光纖插頭連接器軸向地移動,其中軸向被界定成平行於該對LC光纖插頭連接器之至互補的LC光纖插座連接器中的插入的方向;及罩蓋,從該夾子本體之頂部突出,該罩蓋被建構成當該夾子本體係於向後、軸向方向中相對該LC光纖插頭連接器移動時,嚙合每一該LC光纖插頭連接器的閂扣上之凸輪面且壓下該閂扣,俾以允許該LC光纖插頭連接器自該LC光纖插座連接器脫離,其中向後被界定成在朝向離開該LC光纖插座連接器的方向上。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項之雙夾式總成,另包括附著至該夾子本體之保護罩,該保護罩被建構成以在該光纖纜線與該保護罩之間具有間隙的方式鬆弛地圍繞附著至該LC光纖插頭連接器之該光纖纜線,使得該保護罩能夠會 同該夾子本體相對該光纖纜線及LC光纖插頭連接器軸向地移動。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第2項之雙夾式總成,其中該保護罩具有第一端部、該第一端部被附著至該夾子本體、及與該第一端部相反之第二端部,該保護罩具有最接近該第二端部的中心硬化構件。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第3項之雙夾式總成,其中該保護罩之該第二端部具有環狀突出部份。
  5. 如申請專利範圍第4項之雙夾式總成,其中該保護罩另包括隆起的抓握表面。
