Abstract

The present invention relates to a power-saving and high-efficiency luminescent device manufactured by using feature of the carbon micro tube that can emit electrons under a low potential. Such luminescent devices can be combined to an electronic board capable of displaying static characters, graphs or dynamic images and animations. The luminescent device is formed to achieve the object of illumination by applying electric field between grids and micro carbon tubes to emit electrons from the micro carbon tubes for being accelerated by the high voltage of the anode to hit on the fluorescent powder of the anode. The switch of this device is controlled by the electrode under the micro carbon tube. The high resolution of the luminescent device can be achieved by using a mutual isolated triple electrode structure having two layers of grid electrode. One of the grid electrode layer provides the electric field to emit electrons. The other grid electrode layer is perpendicular to the conductive layer, and can be used as a switch to determine whether electrons pass or not. Such a structure can realize a power-saving, high-efficiency and high resolution luminescent device.
