Abstract

The invention relates to a device for continuous casting and shaping a cast strand (1) of metal, particularly a cast strand of steel in the billet and bloom format, including a casting section (2), particularly a curved strand casting section, and a processing section (3) arranged thereafter in the direction of advance (F) of the cast strand, in which the cast strand (1) is shaped, aligned and forwarded in the direction of advance (F). In order to improve the quality of the cast strand, the device is characterized according to the invention by at least one machine unit (4) arranged in the area of the processing line (3), which is designed and suitable for shaping, aligning and advancing the cast strand (1). The invention further relates to a method for continuous casting.
