It can provide full-screen images and can automatically update from a camera to The next one, or at the same time, displays several images in the split window prepared by the staff. Or 'Bao Shao provides processing power to each pixel. 09. For example, each pixel 109 can be programmed. (Or digitization) to know the relative position of other pixels in the display. A special address code can be provided to make each pixel know the graphic to be displayed. In this way, 1% of the pixels in the smart display system, 109, can be regarded as a network. · A node of the road. In a specific embodiment, the processor 103 can provide a display system and a signal to the pixel 109. Ideally, a display signal includes an address and an indication relative to a particular pixel (or pixel group) The addressing pixel (or pixel group) should display the content of the graphic. The pixel receives the signal and determines the graphic to be displayed. It can also be expected that the processor can provide higher-level information to the pixel.

-20- 200400746In this embodiment, each pixel 109 can perform higher-order information calculations to determine the graphics that must be displayed. A power system including one or more thin film cells or photovoltaic cells (or two coupled to them) can also be connected to the display system 106. A power system can be connected or placed directly on the back of the display so that it does not interfere with the visual display on it. Flexible thin-film cells or photovoltaic cells, for example, can be laminated on top of a display. As such, the device 100 may be powered by the first power system if the display system 106 is not expanded, and may also be supplied with additional power by the second power system or replace the first power system if the display system 106 is expanded. Examples of flexible photovoltaic cells include organic, amorphous silicon, or diselenide. Ideally, the first and second power systems are provided. The power system connected to the display does not generate electricity unless the display is expanded. In a conventional display, the driver electronics can provide the required information to each pixel 109 based on the brightness status. In a smart display, pixels can be connected to each other via a common data bus that carries data packets to pixels. A data packet includes a field with pixel locations, color, and brightness values. In a specific embodiment, each pixel 109 may include a circuit to decode the address and brightness information. According to a feature of the present invention, the display screen 110 may have any surface area larger than the cross-sectional area of the housing 102. Although the display screen is generally rectangular as shown, of course, the display system 106 according to the present invention is not limited in shape. That is, the substrate on which the smart display is formed may take any shape. -20- 200400746

The display 106 must be capable of emitting maximum brightness with minimum power consumption, which is a light transmitting or light reflecting display. In a preferred embodiment, the 7F display screen 110 includes a plurality of pixels 109. Each pixel 109 includes one or more light emitting elements. The pixel 109 may include an organic material, an inorganic material, or an organic material and an inorganic material coupled thereto. Ideally, the light-emitting element is highly efficient. Organic and light-emitting devices (OLED) use phosphorescent light-emitting devices as disclosed in U.S. Patent No. 6,303,238 B1, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Phosphorescent emitters as disclosed in U.S. Pat. Nos. 4,539,507, 4,769,292, and 5,294,870 can also be used. The organic layer of the OLED may include small molecule (such as non-polymerized, non-linked) materials or large molecule (such as polymerized, chained) materials. It can be general OLED, edge-to-edge OLED, or stacked (such as multiple resolution) 0LED (SOLED). It is also possible to use a transparent OLED or a TOLED with a top-emitting OLED. An example of a TOLED is disclosed in U.S. Patent No. 5,703,436, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. An example of SOLED is disclosed in U.S. Patent No. 5,707,745 ', the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. OLED devices generally (but not absolutely) emit light through at least one electrode, and use one or more transparent electrodes in organic optoelectronic devices. For example, a transparent electrode material, such as hafnium tin oxide (IT0), can be used as the bottom electrode. A transparent top light-emitting electrode may also be used, as disclosed in U.S. Patent Nos. 5,703,436 and 5,707,745, the contents of which are incorporated herein by way of indication. For devices that only emit light through the bottom electrode, the top electrode does not need to be transparent and may include a thick reflective metal layer with high conductivity. Similarly, for devices that only emit light through the top electrode, the bottom electrode is an opaque and / or reflective 200400746 (17) layer. If the electrode does not need to be transparent, use a thicker layer to provide better conductivity, and use a reflective electrode to reflect the transparent electrode with reflected light to increase the amount of light passing through the other electrodes. It is also possible to make a fully transparent device in which both electrodes are transparent. It can also be made as a side-emitting OLED, and one or two electrodes are opaque or reflective. The 1% pole can be any suitable anode with sufficient conductivity to transport holes to the organic layer. Preferred anode materials include conductive metal oxides, such as indium tin oxide (ITO) and zinc tin oxide (ZηΤΟ), and metals. The anode (and substrate) is sufficiently transparent to form a bottom-emitting device. A preferred transparent substrate and anode are formed by depositing a ready-made ITO (anode) on a glass or plastic substrate. A flexible and transparent substrate anode is coupled to U.S. Patent No. US 5,844,363, whose contents are incorporated herein by reference. The anode may be opaque and / or reflective. A more ideal reflective anode is used for the top light emitting device to increase the luminescence of the meteorological part of the device. The material and thickness of the anode can be selected to obtain the required conductivity and optical properties. If the anode is transparent, the thickness of the special material ranges from thick enough to provide the required conductivity and thin enough to provide the required transparency. Other anode materials and structures can also be used to deposit OLED substrates with a thickness of 1, 4%, 7% from V. Yunv. The substrate is flexible or sturdy. Examples of plastics and broken glass. Plastic and metal pigs are examples of preferred concrete substrates. The substrate is made of semiconductor material to facilitate the circuit. For example, the substrate is a silicon wafer on which circuits can be formed, which is suitable for OLEDs that are later deposited on the substrate. Other substrates can be used. (電子墨水為 E. The system 106 may also include a removable protective layer on the display screen to provide mechanical and environmental protection. Ideally, the protective layer is made of a thin transparent material (such as plastic) and can be easily replaced. In this way, the protective layer is disposable. As shown in Figs. 3A-3C, the display 106 is foldable. That is, the display 106 can be formed on a foldable substrate and connected to the housing 102 to cause the display 10 to be pulled out or pushed into the external device 102. FIG. 3A shows that the display 106 is fully contracted; FIG. 3B shows that the display 106 is partially extended; and FIG. 3C shows that the display 106 is fully extended. Of course, the display 106 substrate can be made of a smart material. When the display is retracted, it can be bent, but when the display 106 is extended, it becomes sturdy. A thin film deposition method can be used to deposit pixels on a foldable substrate to form a foldable display. Ideally, the display 106 is formed on a flexible substrate, such as plastic or thin metal foil. The active matrix backplane can be made of a plastic substrate 'and deposited into a pullable substrate. Then deposit pixels on it. Although the active tortoise-_ + 丨 flat _ 7F device is better, the passive matrix display according to the principle of the present invention can also be used. Active matrix displays typically use transistors to keep the package on or off. On the other hand, passive matrix displays apply current to the diodes at a special, novel rate to maintain an image. OLED display technology is ideal for flexible base handles. The substrate temperature during deposition is very low and the brightness is high but the power is low. A small molecule OLED can be used in Putian, as described in US Patent No. 5,844,363. It is also ideal to prevent the penetration of moisture and oxygen into the plastic film and reduce the performance of the OLED. You can use a flexible liquid crystal as described in US Patent No. -23- (19) (19) 200400746 5,771,562 °. Or field emission display. For example, a flexible OLED backlight can be used to illuminate a flexible LCD to provide a flexible backlit LCD. Alternatively, a flexible electrophoretic display medium, such as electronic ink, can also be processed into a film coupled to an electronic display. (The electronic ink is a product of E. Ink). The display 106 may form a flexible display, which is curled around the hinge 3, as shown in FIGS. 2A-2C. To expand the display 106, the user can simply rewind the pivot lever 113 to release it (as shown in Figs. 2A and 2B). To shrink the display 106, the user can simply curl around the pivot lever 11 3 (as shown in Figure 2C). -In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2A, the pivot n3 is fixed in the housing 102. In a specific embodiment, one or both ends of the pivot lever 13 can be rotatably connected to the inner end of the housing 102. In the specific embodiment shown in FIGS. 2B and 2C, the pivot lever 113 is fixed on the outside of the peripheral device 102. In a specific embodiment, the pivot lever 113 can rotatably connect one or more connecting members n7. Each link 117 can engage (fix or rotate) the housing 102. The pivot levers 1 and 3 can be fixed or rotated to connect one or zero more connecting members 117. The display 106 may include an interface 119 for connecting the horn 106 and the pivot Π3. The interface n9 also has a path for transmitting electrical information between the display 106 and the other parts of the dress 100. «In another specific embodiment, the display 106 can be rolled around the housing 102. As shown in FIGS. 2D and 2E, the display 106 may include an interface 120 for physically connecting the display 106 and the housing 102. The interface ι20 also has an electrical information path between the display 106 and other parts of the device 100. To unfold the display 107, the user can simply unwind from the casing 102 (as shown in Figure 2D). -24- 200400746

本裝置1〇〇也可包括一馬達 (未顯示)以造成顯示器1〇6纏繞或鬆開脫離樞桿113或外殼 -25- 200400746(20) To shrink the display 106, the user can simply roll the display 106 around the housing 102 (as shown in Figure 2E). Ideally, the material used to make the display iOS can provide a minimum bend radius display. For example, the display 106 may be thin and can be rolled or folded into the housing 102, i.e., it is about the size of a conventional pen or braille, or a pivot-connected housing, as described above. For example, the substrate must be thin so that the display has a small cross-sectional area (longitudinal direction of the vertical pivot) when it is retracted into the housing. Also, the components deposited on the substrate must be small and have a small bending radius. 〇LED technology is ideal because it has a very small pixel size (for example, so-called nano pixels). Ideally, the display 106 is a self-folding type (much like a tape size). For example, 'is the size of a tape, and the tension by the pivot lever 113 causes the display 106 to be automatically wound around the pivot lever 113 unless the display 106 is locked in the unfolded position. The display 106 may also include an automatic locking function to cause the display 106 to be fully unfolded. The locking mechanism is automatically locked. Although the display 106 is locked, unlocking the lock allows the user to allow the display 106 to be wrapped around the pivot U3 or the housing 102. For example, the 'locking mechanism can be a lock that can be locked at any point or automatically when the display 106 is fully deployed, or locked at any stretch point of the display 106. The display 106 may include an automatic folding button m, which causes the display 106 to contract when pressed. For example, in a specific embodiment, the display 106 is wrapped around the pivot 113, the automatic folding button U1 causes the pivot 113 to rotate, and the display 1 () 6 is wrapped around the pivot 113. Alternatively, the automatic folding button can disengage the locking mechanism, thereby causing the display to wrap around the pivot n3 or the housing 102. The device 100 may also include a motor (not shown) to cause the display 10 to be twisted or released from the pivot 113 or housing -25- 200400746

Ideally, the size and shape of the motor may be contained within the casing ι02. The processor 103 can be adjusted to retrieve display data from the input radio signal and provide a display data signal to the display 106. In a preferred embodiment, the communication bandwidth required by the communication protocol between the communication device 100 and the external device is much smaller than the current communication protocol. For example, in the system according to the present invention, the information of each pixel 109 need not be continuously transmitted. Indeed, each pixel has sufficient "intelligence" to determine the image to be displayed based on higher-order information provided by the outside world through communication. In addition, updating the display 107 can be achieved by changing only the pixels 109 that need to be changed for image transformation. However, for backward compatibility, the device 100 desirably includes the ability to operate with an existing agreement (e.g., transition from an old agreement to a new agreement). The π display communication device 100 also includes a memory 105, which is contained in the casing ⑺2 or embedded in the display 106. Alternatively, the device 100 includes a removable memory card such as a memory card, and a mini-drive for reading and embedding data into the memory card. The memory can be used to temporarily or permanently store audio, video, or other information used by the communication device ιOO to receive, transmit, or operate. The memory may include a multi-mode memory card or a memory pen, including a communication device providing multi-function logic for connecting different external devices. It is also possible to reduce the bandwidth requirement between the display system 106 and an external device by storing information about the current display. As a result, the processor ι〇3 can only pass information to update the display 106. In a preferred embodiment of a smart display, the display system 106 can include each memory in each pixel 109. Each pixel 109 uses a few transistors to reduce or eliminate the need to maintain information from outside to the pixel. Alternatively, an external chip can be used to make the pixel memory easy to talk to other memories. . Ji Yi Is: Can be made into a large-area electronic backplane, as shown by an active matrix. For example, a 'matrix of pixels' can be overlaid on the backplane so that some transistors are connected to each pixel. Currently, a display back plate is first formed and then a light emitting element is deposited thereon. Generally, a display back plate includes electronic components. In a smart display system according to the present invention, additional electronic components can be added for special pixel memory. Ideally, amorphous silicon, polycrystalline silicon, organic thin film technology (TFT), or other TFTs are used. Processing and logic can also be consolidated into a large area electronic backplane. Ideally, the display communication device 100 according to the present invention can be activated by sound. For example, a user wants to display an email or a flight schedule, enlarge it into an image, or move the image from one part of the screen to another. For example, 'the user wants to watch emails, just say a command to the microphone such as "show emails" to simply instruct the device to display emails. Processing Cry 103 determines that the input audio is a voice command (not the one for telephone conversation). The processor 103 may include logic to receive voice instructions, interpret and respond. For example, the processor 103 may obtain the child mail from the user's e-mail box, and may be stored in the memory 105 of the communication device 100. Alternatively, the processor 103 may initiate a network connection to obtain the user's e-mail. The processor 103 causes the display 10 to display the user's e-mail as a result of the user's voice activation command. In general, A-start technology can be applied to let device 100 execute any other device 100 can perform = -27- (23) 200400746

The automatic configuration is initiated using an engaging member located on the device or display 106. The display 106 has a display boundary 115, as shown, including a microphone 121, a head expander 123, and a digital imager 125. The imager ^ can include a thin film device that is lightly fitted to or embedded in the display screen UG. Imager is not a detector. For example, each image element to receive the viewing field is considered to be an organic or small molecule polymer or a mixed inorganic element 109 (or some subset of pixels) may have a light inside the sensor. Alternatively, by using large-area imaging technology, software can be used as part of the imager 125. The entire display screen 110 can be coupled to a video transmitter / receiver. Imagers produce digital data equivalent to light or video. Digital data can be stored in memory (fixed memory or removable memory card in case 102), and can be retrieved for later display. In this case, the device 100 can be used as a digital camera or a video camera. Head π communication devices include digital imagers that can be used, for example, to provide morphological tracking. This device captures images of the user's posture. Continuous images can be used to compare known commands (images are stored in device memory or remote memory -28- (24) 200400746). For example, a distressed user can provide a continuous pose. You explain that ψ refers to the current position of the user. The device captures continuous images and interprets them as information that encompasses the user's location. Posture tracking techniques and actuators are well known in the art. If necessary, the display 106 may include a loudspeaker 123, so that stereophonic sound a can be achieved. If the display 106 is shrunk, the expansion 1080 on the housing 102 provides wheels. However, if the display 106 is unfolded, the first device 123 on the display 106 automatically starts. If a video imager is provided, the bone expander 123 is a thin-film loudspeaker with sufficient thickness and resistance, so that the foldability of the display 106 is not affected. Inside the car, the display system 106 includes a touch response screen 110. In the touch response screen, "T, ..." is added to the screen itself, or is superimposed on the screen 10 so that the device 100 can detect the presence and position of any touch input. If the eye pattern matches a stored pattern, the user has authorized and activated the function (or safety function) of the device. FIG. 4 shows a preferred embodiment of a display communication device 100 according to the present invention having a touch response display 106 and a telephone keypad 132. The user can use the phone keypad 132 on the display 106 as if using a normal telephone keypad button. The display system 106 detects a user's touch, determines which part of the screen is touched, and the communication processor 103—a signal indicating that the user touches a portion of the φ screen. For example, you can specify one beacon for each pixel (for example, the x_y plane). If the user touches the display screen, the display screen measures some of the touched pixels and forwards the relative coordinates to the processor. The processor 103 processes the touch instruction according to a part of the screen touched by the user. For example, if a phone keypad button is being displayed on the screen, the processor can be programmed to initiate a call to a "touch" phone number.

The user can use the screen 110 as a keyboard to access the Internet and communicate via e-mail, calling, etc. Similarly, the display system 106 detects the touches used, and the communication processor 103—the signal indicates the part of the screen that the user touches. The processor 103 processes the touch instruction according to a part touched by the user in the glory screen. FIG. 6 shows a preferred embodiment of a display communication 100 system of a display screen 110 capable of displaying all network items according to the present invention. Ideally, the display screen 110 provides a full-color display, and its size and shape are suitable for displaying a pleasant-looking -31- 200400746 (27) style web page. This device may include browser software for users to browse the Internet and download web pages. Download technologies can be used, such as applets or Java, or other download technologies. Ideally, the display system 106 can display multiple images on the screen 110. That is, the display system 106 can provide a split screen display, such as downloading from a website, or provide multiple active areas at the same time. For example, the display screen 110 may include a first sub-display (or window) to display a web page downloaded by the user from the Internet, and a second sub-display (or window) to simultaneously display the user's email. Users can move from window to window to chat interactively with the Internet or email. As such, the display communication device 100 according to the present invention can perform multiple functions simultaneously. Ideally, the display system 106 is self-configuring. In one configuration, the sub-display changes the gray scale by changing the number of 16 pixels that are turned on (or off) at a specified time. This display can be reconfigured according to the needs of the displayed image, such as grayscale versus resolution. That is, the sub-display is reconfigured according to whether the current display requires more accurate grayscale or more resolution. For example, for special images, four gray levels may be sufficient, but more and more resolutions are required. In that application, the 4x4 sub-display can be reconfigured into four 2x2 sub-displays, each with four gray levels. Similarly, four 4x4 sub-displays can work together to form an 8 X 8 display with less resolution, but with 64 gray levels. In a specific embodiment, the present display may include a bistable pixel. Bistable pixels operate in a two-bit mode (for example, each pixel is on or off), and stays in the current state until it is told to change. Pixels can include TFTs or other electrical components and can be connected as a memory. TFT can be used to form traditional memory elements, -32- (28) 200400746

If the information is displayed on the display so that the brightness & state of any particular pixel does not need to be changed, it is not necessary to supply poor data to the pixel, and the internal area memory can retain the brightness data stored in the pixel memory. The area memory provides information that the pixel circuit needs to control the brightness of the pixel. & Bistable pixels may include organic or inorganic photodetectors as part of the bistable circuit. In addition, bistable pixels can be made using pure electrical feedback. An example of a bistable pixel used in such a device is U.S. Patent Application No. 10 / 219,760, filed August 6, 2002, entitled "Organic Optics Using Organic Light Detection Z and Transparent Organic Light Emitting Devices "Integrated Circuit", its content is incorporated into this article by way of prompt. In this display, grayscale can be achieved by defining each pixel as a sub-pixel group (for example, 4, 8, 16, or 64), and turning on or off an appropriate number of sub-pixels. In this way, the display can be used at the maximum resolution, with each pixel on or off, or at a lower resolution, with each pixel displaying grayscale information. In a color display, each pixel may include three sub-pixels, one for each of the primary colors (ie, red, blue, and green). As shown in FIG. 9A, the one-pixel 90 display expansion can also be a folding type. Ideally, the expansion of the display system 14 includes a fold-folding display expansion 144. As the display system 106 described above, a display screen extension 144 is manufactured. Ideally, the display screen expansion 144 can be wound-pivoted. (Not shown) is contained in an expansion casing 142. In this way, and the display system of the expansion of the display system of 140 can be a type of "pen and # pen" group. -33- 200400746

If the display system extension 140 is connected to the display system 106, the device 100 detects the presence of the display system extension 140. Then, the processor 103 can provide the display data to the display system 106 and the display system expansion 140. For example, a display data bus may be extended by the display system 106 to the display expansion interface 146. Similarly, a display system expansion 140 may include a display data bus to the end of the display expansion interface. In this way, the processor can provide display data to the display system 106 and the display system expansion 140 via a common bus. The display expansion 140 also includes additional memory. The input / output of information to / from the device may be performed using the above-mentioned expandable display system, and may also be performed using a low information display system placed on the outer surface of the casing 100. The display system can communicate with the processor 103, and its size and shape enable the system to display telephone numbers, names and others. The device 100 is also detachably connected to a micro-display, which can be coupled to a user's headphones, glasses, etc. or a wrist-worn device, such as a watch, thereby ensuring that the user has greater privacy when using the device. Then, the display system 106 assumes that the display includes the characteristics of an external device, and thus can provide a display that is much heavier than a display including an external device. In this case, the display system 106 confirms the display characteristics of the connected system. For example, 'if the display system 106 is connected to a mobile phone, the resolution and grayscale range of the mobile phone display can be determined. The display system 106 can adjust the image of the mobile phone display so that it is suitable for viewing of different sizes. Each pixel of the mobile phone display can be mapped to a relative pixel 109 of the display system 106. Alternatively, if a larger or more analytical image is required, each pixel of the mobile phone can be mapped onto a plurality of pixels of the display system 106. Similarly, the display can be attached to the casing so that any display can be attached to the casing within a specified time. For example, the user of the device wishes to use a specific display (i.e., have a first display resolution) ' in a particular environment and use a different display (having a better resolution) in different environments. The display communication device 100 can also include position finding functions, such as global positioning. For example, the 'antenna 104 is capable of receiving global foot signals from one or more global positioning satellites. The processor 103 can determine the position of the device 100 based on the global positioning signal. The processor 103 can transmit data to the display system 106 so that the display system 106 can provide a video signal of the position of the device 100 based on the received global positioning signal.
