Description

A method of manufacturing metal-ceramic electrodes for lead-acid batteries by pressing-powder of lead, obtained by chemical or electrochemical means, is known.

However, the electrodes manufactured in a known manner, when used, do not provide a sufficient capacity of the batteries, and the process of forming the latter is relatively long.

Насто щее изобретение позвол ет повысить емкость аккумул тора и ускорить процесс его формировани .The present invention makes it possible to increase the capacity of a battery and speed up the process of its formation.

Ускорение же процесса формировани  последнего обеспечиваетс  введением в электролит окислител  в виде добавки перхлората кали .For carrying out the method according to the invention, lead powder is pressed at a pressure of no more than 15 kg1 cm, and the electrodes are subjected to anodic and cathodic polarization prior to gas evolution (i.e., until lead is completely recovered). This results in an increase in battery capacity. Acceleration of the process of formation of the latter is ensured by the introduction of an oxidizing agent into the electrolyte as an additive to potassium perchlorate.
