Description

This invention relates to methods for applying copper coatings on steel products by electrolysis of copper-containing electrolytes.

Известные подобные способы, также предусматривающие использование электролитов, содержащих медный купорос, не обеспечивают в достаточной мере экономичность процесса, профессиональную безвредность и высокое качество покрыти .Known similar methods, also involving the use of electrolytes containing copper sulphate, do not sufficiently ensure the cost-effectiveness of the process, occupational safety and high quality of the coating.

To eliminate these drawbacks, copper deposition from a bath containing triethanolamine 100-120, copper 14-17 g / l, ammonium sulphate 30-50 e / l, glauber salt 75-100 g / l, soda ash 3-5 g / l, 25% ammonia solution 2-3 M.ijji. In this case, the electrolyte should have a temperature of 15-25 °, a cathode current density of 0.3-0.5 a / Li, and the acidity of the solution pH 8.5. Anodes are made from copper. The products to be coated are subjected to the usual pretreatment. There is no gas evolution during electrolysis. Contact separation of copper from the electrolyte does not occur.

The precipitated copper has a light pink color and a fine-crystalline structure.

The electrolyte is stable in operation, its adjustment is to maintain the pH value.

The electrolyte can be used for copper plating followed by nickel plating or chrome plating, for copper plating of aluminum and its alloys with 2 times zincate preparation, for applying a copper layer on coal and graphite brushes of an electric motor with subsequent soldering of contacts and for other types of protective and decorative coatings.
