Abstract
Method and Apparatus Relating to Fluorescence imaging and point-wiseSpectroscopy for in vivo Tissue Measurements at EndoscopyAbstract. We report on the development of an nifegated point-wise spectroscopy andautofluorescence (AF) endoscopic imaging technique for real-time in vivo tissuemeasurements at endoscopy We implement a unique optical design to realize real-bine AFunaging and AF/ ,or e (DE spectroscopy ineasuretnents from a sinall area(100[err]m in diameter) of fissue of interest on the AF image- We denionstratr that, both theAF iniage and the point-wise i AFIDR spectra can he sinniltmeously acquired from the oralcavity in -viva within 01 second, and significant dianges AF imaging and point-wise AFspectroscopy can be observed in cancerous colonic and head and neck tissues- This workdemonstrates the potential. of applying ' the integrated spectroscopytechnique developed to facilitate in viva tissue diagnosis and charicterizatton at endowmpyFigure 1.
