Abstract

The present invention provides an insert, which enables the usage of one single type of inserts to achieve close tolerances and good surface finish at bar peeling. It is characteristic that the insert between two corners comprises two convexly curved surface portions (13a, 13b) which are separated by a flat surface portion (22) and the chip face having an elevated plateau (26), the downwardly extending walls of which on one side of the bisector (B) in a corner comprises a portion (27) with concave configuration and on the other side of said bisector comprises a portion (28) with convex configuration. <IMAGE>
