Abstract
A device for splicing electric cables, incorporating insulation material (14-17) and tensile relieving means (12, 21, 22) for absorbing tensile stresses from the spliced cables (18, 19). The tensile relief incorporates a tube sleeve (12) provided with attachments (21) for locking means (22), by means of which the spliced cables can be connected to the tube sleeve, thus that tensile relief is accomplished via the same. The tube sleeve (12) is split via a longitudinal slot (13). The tube sleeve is provided with a folding joint (20) situated substantially diametrically opposite the slot, and which divides the tube sleeve in two interconnected halves (12a, 12b). At least one of the halves has the said attachments (21) for the locking means (22), which are constituted by holes in the tube sleeve (12). The locking means consist of bundle bands (22), which are laid in a loop around the different splice ends on the cable (18, 19), and threaded through holes in the tube sleeve and affixed to this.
