Abstract

Outlet for removal of liquid sludge from sedimentation tanks used to purify water, especially during the treatment of sewage, comprises a drain (2) secured to one of the tank walls (1) and containing an outlet hole (3) for the liquid sludge, which is guided over a swing table (5) on the opposite side of the drain to the side secured to the tank wall. During collection of the sludge the table lies in a vertical position and then it can be moved into a second position to create a flow of water that carries the collected sludge down to the drain.
