Abstract
A method and a device for controlling an internal combustion engine is proposed, in which a desired value for the torque output by the internal combustion engine is prescribed, which desired value is provided by shutting off and restoring the supply fuel to at least one cylinder and by intervention in the ignition angle, the shutting off and restoration and the ignition angle adjustment being synchronised. <IMAGE>
