Abstract

Apparatus for winnowing and grading grain, which apparatus has two revolving screens 2, 3 coaxial with one another, the inner one of which has a screen surface 3a with greater screen density and the outer of which has a screen surface with 2a lesser screen density. The grain is fed into the inner revolving screen 3, where it passes through the short screen surface situated therein, and the waste is removed from the screen surface 3a and is moved along the closed drum surface 3c to the other end. The grain, for its part, is graded by means of the outer revolving screen 2, undersize grain passing through the screen surface 2a of the outer revolving screen 2, and grain of adequate size being removed from its outlet end 2c. To remove dust and small pieces of chaff an air flow opposed to the conveying direction of the grain is fed through the apparatus, the said air flow during grading removing the dust and chaff from the outlet duct 10 in the top part of the apparatus.
