Abstract

This invention relates to a method and an arrangement for zero-point reference measurements on-line in an optical measuring gap (2; 18) of a measuring probe, said gap having optics having optical surfaces facing said gap and being provided for optical transmission or scattering measurement on a streaming medium including suspended material, particles and/or light absorbing material. The gap is completely filled with a reference medium, such as liquid or gas, during zero-point reference measurements. A cleaning effect of the optical surfaces is made by letting the reference medium stream towards the optical surfaces.
