Abstract

A mirror mounting system for a vehicle (W) comprises a mirror base (2) and a mirror housing (3) with an intervening member (9). The mirror is capable of swinging about an axis (A). The mirror mount (9) is reversible and interposed between the mirror base and mirror housing and consists of a disc having differently-located projections (12a, 12b, 12c and 14a, 14b, 14c) on opposite faces thereof adapted to engage with respective grooves provided on bearing surfaces formed on circular mounts presented by the mirror housing (3) and the base (2) respectively according to the required positioning of the former. The reversible mount (9) permits mounting of the mirror housing (3) to the mirror base (2) and alignment of the mirror surface regardless of whether the mirry electrical connectors 60 making contact with integral elements 48 on the outer periphery of the disc 20. <IMAGE>
