Abstract

The plant is installed in a telephone system to control from a calling point (5) one or more objects at the called location (1). After establishment of a connection between the two points (1,5), appropriate components (7,8) transmit tone signals to the called position via the connection (a,b). At the called location, is a primary unit (4) which receives the tone signals, and dependent upon them transmits over a non-line connection (13). A second unit coupled to a heavy current provision system comprises a receiver tuned to the signals transmitted from the primary unit. Dependent upon the receipt of the transmitted signal, a control signal is sent to a heavy current operating component, which in turn either connects or interrupts heavy current supply to the objects, which can be indicators, appts., and/or initiation units. (Provisional Basic advised week 83/51).
