Abstract

The central flange is asymmetrically wider in the middle than at the mounting sections and the waist on the narrowest side of the central flange contains holes connected to the bumper mounting surfaces in order to assist bumper deformation. The bumper has a hat profile comprising a central flange, two waists and side flanges. The bumper is secured with the central flange facing outwards and has lateral mounting sections where the side flanges form mounting surfaces for securing to the vehicle.
