Abstract

The lockable conveyor belt is for an overhead transporter and is supported and driven by rollers. The belt (1) is endless, has two longitudinal edges (2,3) and is arranged with a narrowing thickened part (4,5). The thickened parts have a first surface (8,9) and a corresponding second surface (10,11). These second surfaces have a main part with a linear cross-section. At least one of the first surfaces has a convex, curved shaped cross-section, so that when the first surfaces are brought into contact with each other for creation of a material supporting part (6) of the belt, a gap (14) is formed between the first surfaces at a thinner part of the thickened parts.
