Abstract
1. Absorbent cellulosic sheet having a variable local base weight, containing a paper-fiber mesh consisting of:! (a) a plurality of elongated densified regions of pressed paper fibers, the densified fibers generally oriented in the machine direction (MD) of the sheet and having a relatively low local base weight, as well as leading and trailing edges at their longitudinal ends; and! (b) a plurality of fiber-rich bonnet regions connected to a plurality of elongated densified regions, the bonnet regions having (i) a relatively high local base weight; and (ii) a plurality of ridges extending across the machine direction (CD) having vaulted CD profiles relative to the front and rear the edges of a plurality of elongated densified areas. ! 2. The absorbent cellulosic sheet according to claim 1, wherein the elongated densified regions are further characterized by an MD / CD ratio of densified regions of 6 to 10.! 3. The absorbent cellulosic sheet according to claim 1, wherein the fiber-enriched cap regions have a fiber orientation offset in the CD direction of the sheet. ! 4. Absorbent cellulosic sheet according to claim 1, in which the compacted area with a relatively low base weight, extending in the machine direction, have a displacement of the fiber orientation along the CD sheet direction. ! 5. The absorbent cellulosic sheet according to claim 1, wherein the sheet has a porosity equal to or greater than 9 g / g, and up to 12 g / g. ! 6. Absorbent cellulosic sheet according to claim 1, having a CD elongation of more than 6%. ! 7. Absorbent cellulosic sheet according to claim 1, in which the densified area! are arranged in a repeating pattern of the set as a whole on
