Abstract
A finisher should highly compact asphalt without increasing the processing temperature nor the compacting effort. For that purpose, a process is disclosed by which the material is simultaneously transported from two separate reception buckets (M1, M2) mounted on the machine to two dispensers (VS1, VS2) offset behind each other in the processing direction that apply and lay the material in superimposed layers (AS1, AS2). The invention concerns a process for operating a finisher and a finisher for laying and compacting asphalt layers. The finisher has a tank system for receiving and temporarily storing hot mixes, a conveyor for transporting the asphalt in the longitudinal direction upstream of a compacting beam for precompacting and removing the asphalt, and a dispenser for transversely dispensing the mix over the whole laying width without causing it to dissociate.
