Abstract
[Problem] To use a fermentative drying device 3 for heating waste such as garbage under reduced pressure, fermenting the waste using microbes, and utilizing the fermented product as a fuel for a biomass burner. [Solution] The present invention comprises: a fermentative drying device 3 in which garbage (object to be treated) including organic waste is stored in a tank 30 (sealed container) and agitated while being heated to a prescribed temperature range under a reduced pressure, and the organic matter is fermented by microbes to produce dry matter for which a malodor component has been decomposed and reduced in size; a vibrating sieve 4 by which the produced dry matter is classified into a suitable fuel (small granulated matter), which is suitable for burning in a biomass burner, or into other fuel (large granulated matter); and a storing device 6 that stores at least the suitable fuel temporarily. The small granulated matter is burned in a biomass burner 71, and the generated heat is utilized to heat the organic waste stored in the tank 30.
