Abstract
Provided is a duo crawler for wet paddy with improved in mud extraction performance, and particularly, a crawler used as running means of continuous track vehicles, for securing efficient running capability even in wet paddy by improving mud extraction performance and for incredibly increasing driving force during running operation by its strengthened frictional force. The conventional crawler has a problem being used in wet paddy because slippery or vain running operation occurs so much in wet paddy due to the mud being stuck into the crawler and the mud removal there from is not followed fast and easy enough resulted from the structural feature in which the space between long-shaped lugs extended on the crawler body along its width direction is too narrow and mud is so easily fit into and remained hard. In order to solve this problem, the duo crawler is structured to have duo center lugs extended along the width direction except for the side portions, and duo side lugs alternately formed on one side portion only between the duo center lugs, and mud is easily and smoothly flowed and extracted through the widespace of the open units opposite to the duo side lugs and the self-cleaningmud extraction grooves formed along the same line with the duo side lugs.
Description
DUO CRAWLER FOR WET PADDY WITH IMPROVED IN MUD
EXTRACTION PERFORMANCE
1. Technical Field
The present invention relates to a crawler used as running means of continuous track vehicles, and more particularly, a duo crawler for securing efficient running capability even in wet paddy by improving mud extraction i performance and for securing high driving force during running operation by strengthening its frictional force. 2. Discussion of Related Art
Driving means using a crawler is widely used in an agricultural machine, a construction machine and so on. Particularly, rubber crawler is formed with no-end shape by rubber elastic material, and so, the rubber crawler-employed driving means is wound-up installed in a driving vehicle and rotationally driven.
The rubber crawler driving means employing the rubber crawler is currently and widely used in the agricultural machine such as combine, etc. and also currently and widely used in the construction machine such as backhoe, efc.
These conventional and ordinary crawler is formed with no-end shape by using rubber material and thereby is installed to be caught between driving sprocket and idler at both sides, and therefore, proceeds forward by being rotated by the rotational force of the driving sprockets.
The driving sprockets are caught by sprocket grooves formed sequentially at the center portion of the crawler, with equally spaced there between. Inside this rubber crawler, steel core made of metal material is embedded between the sprocket grooves in order to facilitate smooth driving operation. A guide roller is installed outside a guide protrusion formed on the steel core so as to prevent the crawler from being released from the driving sprocket and the idier while the crawler is driven.
As prior arts related with the crawler configured as above, there is disclosed in Korean Patent Publication No. 2011-0055762 entitled with “LUG
PATTERN STRUCTURE OF CRAWLER’ which was applied by the applicant of the present invention.
The prior art is characterized in that another lug is provided between a lug and a lug formed in a crawler in order to improve the mud extraction performance while preventing the loosening and displacement of the crawler and secure driving force effectively, and with the lug pattems well balanced right and left, to provide effects of preventing the damages and breakages of the crawler and extending the life time of the crawler incredibly.
The prior part has structure in that first lug is composed of two short lugs protruded at the both sides and second lug is composed of one long lug protruded in width direction and the first short lugs are provided between the second long lugs. However, the prior art has a problem in driving in mud- : filled areas such as wet paddy (paddy with full of water the whole time because of poor drainage) while causing slippery and vain driving in wet ; paddy and failing get out of the wet paddy, because the spaces between the first lugs and the second lugs are too narrow and dense, and while being operated in wet paddy, mud is stuck into the crawler lugs and not taken off from the crawler lugs so that as time goes by, the mud becomes solid and hard and it is difficult to drive the crawler vehicle in wet paddy.
Therefore, the present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and it is an aspect of the present invention to provide a crawler structure for improving the mud extraction performance in the crawler being used in wet paddy by duo side lugs alternately formed at one side portion only between duo center lugs and an open unit placed in opposite to the duo side lug, so that mud can be flowed and extracted from the crawler smoothly and easily without getting stuck into the crawler body.
Further, it is an aspect of the present invention to provide a crawler structure for improving the mud extraction performance in the crawler being used in wet paddy by a plurality of self-cleaning mud extraction grooves formed along the same line with the duo side lug so that mud can be easily and automatically extracted through the grooves toward opposite to the duo side lug.
Further, it is an aspect of the present invention to provide a crawler structure for incredibly improving the driving force by further supporting relatively weak frictional force of the duo center lugs by the frictional force of the duo side lugs thereby strengthening frictional force of the crawler.
Further, it is an aspect of the present invention to provide a crawler structure for preventing the crawler from being folded toward inside during running by the edge reinforcement protrusion unit which is formed protruded i from the surface of both sides of the crawler body.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from embodiments of the invention to be described later. The objects and advantages of the invention can be embodied by means described in the appended claims and combinations thereof.
According to one aspect of the invention, there is provided a duo crawler being well adapted for wet paddy and improved in mud extraction performance, in which a plurality of sprocket holes are provided at the center of a crawler body with equally spaced and penetrating there through, duo center lugs are protruded from the outside surface of the crawler body and aligned along the width direction between the sprocket holes and formed at the central portion of the crawler body except for both side portions thereof, and duo side lugs are protruded from the outside surface of the crawler body at the both side portions thereof and alternately located before and after the duo center lug between them, and one combination of one pair of the duo center lugs and one pair of the duo side lugs is called one lug pattern, and the lug pattern in identical pattern is successively and repeatedly formed between other combination duo center lugs. ;
As described above, according to the present invention, the duo side lugs are protruded between the duo center lugs, and each side lug is formed on one side only in the space between the duo center lugs so that mud is : flowed without getting stuck and smoothly extracted through the open unit formed between the duo center lugs except for the duo side lugs.
Additionally, according to the present invention, a plurality of self-
cleaning mud extraction grooves 60 are provided at the outside surface of the crawler body between the duo center lugs so that mud is not stuck between the duo center lugs, and automatically and smoothly exiracted through the self-cleaning mud extraction grooves thereby providing the effects of efficiently driving the crawler vehicle without slipping or vain running even in wet paddy.
Further, according to the present invention, the duc side lugs are formed at the side portion alternately with each center lug between them so that frictional force which was short of and relatively poor is incredibly strengthened, thereby improving ride comfort as well as driving force increase.
In addition, according to the present invention, the duo side lugs are partially overlapped with the steel core which is embedded inside the crawler body so that the steel core is protected and the life time is extended.
Furthermore, according to the present invention, edge reinforcement protrusion units are formed on the both sides surface of the crawler body with protruded there from, and the edge reinforcement protrusion unit functions to prevent an edge unit of the crawler body from being folded toward inside, and prevent the collision with a driving box, thereby suppressing the breakages of the crawler and noise generation, and securing the feature of straightness.

Before detailed description of embodiments of the invention, it should be understood that the invention is not limited to the constitutions and arrangements of elements described in the following description or shown in : the drawings. The invention can be embodied as various embodiments and can be put into practice through various methods. Terms indicating directions of apparatuses or elements (such as "front", "back", "up", "down", "top", "bottom", "left", "right", and "lateral" are used to simplify description of : the invention and do not represent nor mean that the apparatuses or elements have specific directions. Terms such as “first’ and “second” used in this specification or the appended claims are not intended to represent or mean the relative importance or meaning.
The invention has the following features so as to achieve the above- mentioned objects. °
Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the invention will be described : in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Terms or words used in the specification and the appended claims should not be analyzed as typical or dictionary definitions but should be analyzed as definitions and concepts suitable for the technical spirit on the basis of the principle that the inventor can appropriately define concepts of terms to explain the invention in the best mode.
Therefore, configurations described in the embodiments of the invention and shown in the drawings are only examples of the invention but do not represent all the technical spirit of the invention. Accordingly, it should be understood that various equivalents and modifications may be present at the time of filing the invention.
With reference of attached drawings, now it will be described more specifically a preferred embodiment of the present invention in order to embody the present invention as means to solve the problem explained as above.
In view of the entire structure of the duo crawler C for wet paddy according to one embodiment of the present invention with attached drawings, the duo crawler C roughly comprises a sprocket hole 10, duo center lugs 20 and 20a, and duo side lugs 30 and 30a. ;
Hereinafter, the present invention configured as above will be described in more detail for its structure to be embodied more easily.
A plurality of sprockets holes 10 are provided at the center of the crawler body 1 formed with no-end shapes, with equally spaced along longitudinal direction and penetrating the crawler body 1 and being caught by sprockets.
Duo center lugs 20 and 20a being in one pair are formed on the outside surface of the crawler body 1 between the sprocket holes 10 with integrally with and protruded from the outside surface of the crawler body 1, specifically at the central portion of the crawler body 1 except for the both side portions thereof.
Having either one of the duo center lugs 20 and 20a between these, : there are provided duo side lugs 30 and 30a before and after the duo center lug 20 for example, and located near its both sides and being one pair, and from the view of the crawler body 1, duo side lugs 30 and 30a are alternately provided and at the side portions only of the crawler body 1 so that relatively wide space are secured between the duo center lugs 20 and 20a, not being narrow and dense, so as to form open units 40 thereby effectively preventing mud from being fit and stuck.
Further, the duo center lugs 20 and 20a, and the duo side lugs 30 and 30a being one combination to form a lug pattern 5 as shown in FIG. 3, and the lug pattems 50 are provided sequentially and repeatedly on the outside surface of the crawler body 1 so as to complete the embodiment of the duo crawler C for wet paddy of the present invention.
Therefore, the duo side lugs 30 and 30a are formed on the side portions only of the crawler body 1 being protruded there from and respectively between each of the duo center lugs 20 and 20a conforming the main portion, thereby provide innovative structuring. By the structuring, mud can be moved and flowed smoothly through the open units 40 between the duo center lugs 20 and 20a while mud not getting stuck, except for the duo
- side lugs 30 and 30a, thereby provide highly effective and demanding function.
With additional structural feature of the present invention in order to further improve the mud extraction performance, a plurality of self-cleaning mud extraction grooves 60 are provided in the same line with each of the duo side lugs 30 and 30a on the outside surface of the crawler body 1 along the width direction thereof and successively and dented-formed. Therefore, mud can be smoothly moved and extracted along the plurality of self-cleaning mud extraction grooves 60 toward the opposite directions to the duo side lugs 30 and 30a during the running operation, without sliding or vain running even in wet paddy.
Further, a mud extraction path 22 is formed at each of the plurality of the duo center lugs 20a, so that the spaces between the duo center lugs 20 are not cut off completely, rather those spaces being maintained to mutually communicate with each other while the mud extraction path 22 functioning as medium, and as results, mud is not stuck to the duo center lugs 20a and is guided to the sprocket holes 10 and the open units 40 adjacent there with, thereby provide the effect of extracting mud more smoothly.
Further, the present invention is characterized in that the outer lateral side 33 of each of the duo side lugs 30 and 30a is configured almost vertical shape compared with the outer lateral side 23 of the duo center lug 20 as shown in FIG. 5.
That is, describing specifically, the outer lateral side 33 of each of the duo side lugs 30 and 30a is structurally formed within the angle of 5° from the vertical line. Thereby, the surface area of the duo side fugs 30 and 30a is increased and the frictional force is incredibly strengthened so that the driving force is improved during running operation and the ride comfort is more improved.
At this configuration, the frictional force can be further improved if the outer lateral side 33 of each of the duc side lugs 30 and 30a is made to be vertical, but the reason of maintaining the angle within at least 5° is because of the manufacturing process using a metal mold and the duc crawler C for wet paddy can be more easily released from the metal mold during mold release process.
Further, the present invention is characterized in that the other sides of : the duo side lugs 30 and 30a are partially located between the duo center lugs 20 and 20a as shown in FIGs. 3 and 5.
As such, the side portion of each of the duo side lugs 30 and 30a located between the duo center lugs 20 and 20a is placed with up and down overlapped with the part of a steel core 2 embedded inside the crawler body 1 so as to protect the steel core 2 and prevent its breakage thereby to improve endurance period of the duo crawler C.
Further, an edge reinforcement protrusion unit 70 is formed on the both sides surface of the crawler body 1 with protruded there from along the longitudinal direction as shown in FIGs. 1 to 3. The edge reinforcement : protrusion unit 70 functions to reinforce the side durability of the crawler body 1 and prevent an edge unit 71 from being folded toward inside.
Therefore, the collision with a driving box when the edge unit 71 of the crawler body 1 is folded can be prevented. Damages of the duo crawler C for wet paddy can be prevented, and noise generation is suppressed thereby show the feature of straightness more smoothly and more effectively during running operation.
While the invention is described above with reference to the finite embodiments and drawings, the invention is not limited to the embodiments but can be modified and changed in various forms by those skilled in the art without departing from the technical concept of the invention and the equivalents of the appended claims.

Claims (7)
1. A duo crawler for wet paddy with improved in mud extraction performance comprising: a plurality of sprocket holes 10 provided at the center of a crawler body 1 with equally spaced and penetrating there through; duo center lugs 20 and 20a protruded from the outside surface of the crawler body 1 and aligned along the width direction between the sprocket holes 10 and formed at the central portion of the crawler body 1 except for both side portions thereof; and duo side lugs 30 and 30a protruded from the outside surface of the crawler body 1 at the both side portions thereof and alternately located before and after the duo center lug 20 between them, in which the duo crawler is composed of lug patterns 50 successively and repeatedly aligned, one lug pattern 50 composed of the combination of the duo center lugs 20 and 20a and the duo side lugs 30 and 30a.
2. The duo crawler for wet paddy according to claim 1, further comprising open units 40 formed between the duo center lugs 20 and 20a : except for the duo side lugs 30 and 30a, which mud does not get stuck into.
3. The duo crawler for wet paddy according to claim 1, further comprising a plurality of self-cleaning mud extraction grooves 60 provided at the outside surface of the crawler body 1 in its width direction along the same line with the duo side lugs 30 and 30a.
4. The duo crawler for wet paddy according to claim 1, wherein the duo center lug 20a comprises a mud extraction path 22 at its center penetrating there through.
5. The duo crawler for wet paddy according to claim 1, wherein the cuter lateral side of each of the duo side lugs 30 and 30a is formed within an angle of 5° relative to the vertical line so as to increase the surface area of the duo side lugs 30 and 30a and thereby improve frictional force.
8. The duo crawler for wet paddy according to claim 1, wherein the other sides of the duo side lugs 30 and 30a are partially located between the duo center lugs 20 and 20a, and the side portion of each of the duo side lugs 30 and 30a located between the duo center lugs 20 and 20a is placed with up and down overlapped with the part of a steel core 2 embedded inside the crawler body 1 so as to protect the steel core 2 and prevent its breakage.
7. The duo crawler for wet paddy according to claim 1, wherein an edge reinforcement protrusion unit 70 is formed on the both sides surface of the crawler body 1 with protruded there from along the longitudinal direction, and the edge reinforcement protrusion unit 70 prevents an edge unit 71 of the ] crawler body 1 from being folded toward inside.
