Abstract

Se proporciona un procedimiento de gestion de potencia para extender la vida de la bateria de encaminadores inalambricos que son parte de redes de malla inalambricas Wi-Fi u otras de alto ancho de banda. El procedimiento comprende las etapas de conectar los clientes, tales como telefonos inteligentes u ordenadores, en una conexion de bajo ancho de banda constante, usando el protocolo/red de bajo ancho de banda de los encaminadores, y para activar el protocolo de alto ancho de banda del encaminador, proporcionar de esta manera una conexion de alto ancho de banda a clientes, unicamente cuando se envia una solicitud por el cliente, o el fichero a transferir tiene un tamano importante para ser soportado por la conexion de bajo ancho de banda. Se proporciona tambien un procedimiento para minimizar el consumo de potencia de una malla de encaminadores inalambricos activando el protocolo de alto ancho de banda a unicamente los encaminadores que estan localizados en la ruta mas corta entre el encaminador principal y el cliente
