본 발명은 압축된 동화상 디지탈 비디오 데이타를 이용자에게 선택권을 최대한 부여하는 서비스에 관한 것으로, 비디오를 보는 도중에 전화를 걸거나 받을 수 있으며, 더불어 협대역 종합정보통신망(Integrated Service Digital Network ; 이하 ISDN 이라 칭함) 서비스도 동시에 제공 받을 수 있도록 하는 주문자 요구형 비디오 네트워크 시스템에 관한 것으로, 종래 주문자 요구형 비디오 네트워크 시스템의 구현은 가입자 망의 매체가 전화선이었기 때문에 비대칭 디지탈 가입 회선(ADSL) 방식을 사용해야 했는데, 이를 이용하게 되면 VOD 서비스와 전화통화의 서비스가 단일회선으로 동시에 가능하나, 전화선의 신호 감쇠 특성을 보상하기 위한 중계기가 필수적이고, ADSL 방식의 모뎀 가격이 고가이여서 경제적이지 못한 문제점이 발생하므로, 본 발명에서는 가입자 망의 매체를 광섬유로 하여 신호 열화 및 유지 보수의 어려움을 해결하고, 전화 신호를 디지탈 신호로 변조시킨 후 디지탈 영상 신호와 함께 시간 분할 다중화(TDM) 방식에 의한 풀 디지탈 방식을 이용하여 송수신함으로써 일반 전화 가입자용 음성신호도 디지탈로 양방향 통신이 가능하게 되고, ISDN 서비스도 가능하고, 동시에 광섬유케이블을 이용하여 전송로를 구현하기 때문에 동화상 디지탈 비디오 서비스도 가능하게 되어, 대역폭 증가에 따른 서비스 제한을 거의 없애고 미래 영상 정보 통신으로의 진화를 가능하게 한다.The present invention relates to a service that gives users maximum choice of compressed moving picture digital video data.
