본 고안은 모세관을 설치한 공기보조분사 시스템(air assisted Injecton system)에 관한 것으로서, 특히 개솔린엔진에 있어서 많은 공기가 필요한 자동차의 냉각시동때 인젝터(injector)의 공기보조분사 어댑터(air assisted adaptor) 설치로 인한 부족한 공기를 공급하기 위해 여분의 공기를 공급하는 모세관을 흡기다기관에 설치하도록 하는 것에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로 자동차 엔진의 실린더에 연료를 공급하기 위해서 주로 기화기를 이용하는 방식이 사용되었으나 최근에는 연료를 절약하고 엔진의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 전자제어장치(ECU)에 의해 제어되는 인젝터(injector)를 사용하게 되었다.
공기보조분사 장치는 인젝터용 어댑터가 장착된 것으로 공기보조분사 어댑터에 공기를 공급하는 것이 필요한데 이와 관련된 사항을 제1도를 참조하여 살펴보도록 한다.
먼저 연료탱크(미도시)에서 유입된 연료는 연료공급관(1)을 통하여 인젝터(2)로 공급되면서 노즐에 대해 분사된다. 이때 연료의 미립화를 촉진하여 점화성능을 향상시키기 위해 어댑터(11)로 보조공기가 공급된다.
이와같이 공급되는 공기의 공급경로를 살펴보면 트로틀 밸브의 열림각도가 클경우에는 대부분의 공기가 흡기다기관(4)을 통하여 실린더(5)내로 유입되지만 공회전의 경우 공기는 공기유입관(6)의 공기조절밸브(8)를 통해 공기유입관(7)으로 유입되는데 본 시스템의 경우 공기유입관(7)을 막고 이 공기는 공기분배기(9) 및 각각의 공기공급관(10)을 통해 인젝터(2)와 결합된 공기보조분사 어댑터(air assisted adaptor)(11)로 공급되며, 인젝터(2)의 노즐로 분사되는 연료를 분무화 시키면서 실린더(5) 내로 연료를 공급한다. 공회전시 뿐만 아니라 트로틀 밸브의 열림각도가 작을 경우에도 일정량의 공기가 위와같은 경로를 통하여 공급된다.
그리고 연료공급관(1)으로 공급되는 연료의 양이 많을 때에는 압력조절관(12)을 통해 흡기다기관(4)내의 압력을 감지하여 일정압력을 유지하도록 연료조절기(13)가 작동하면서 리턴파이프(14)를 통해서 연료를 연료탱크로 다시 재순환 시킨다.
공회전시 경우 일정한 속도를 유지하기 위하여 공기보조분사 어댑터(11)로 공급되는 공기는 공기조절밸브(8)에 의해 조절된다. 그러나 자동차를 냉각시동할 때와 같이 엔진이 정상 공회전수보다 훨씬 큰 회전수로 작동될 때는 공기보조분사 어댑터(11)에 많은 공기를 공급해야 하는데 공기보조분사 어댑터(11)만을 통해서는 충분한 공기의 공급이 이루어지지 않는다. 이는 정상 공회전시(보조공기의 속도를 최대한 크게하기 위하여)공기보조분사 어댑터(11)의 유로크기를 작게 만들기 때문이다.
이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 공기조절 밸브(8) 및 공기 유입관(7)에 별도의 장치를 부착하는데 이 경우 관련부품이 추가로 설치되므로서 공기공급 구조가 복잡해질 뿐만 아니라 생산비가 증가했었다.
본 고안은 이러한 점을 감안하여 안출한 것으로서, 흡기다기관의 일측에 형성된 복수개의 모세관에 의해 공기의 유량이 조절되도록 하는 공기보조분사 시스템을 제공하여 추가로 별도의 조절장치를 사용하지 않고도 종래의 동일한 효과를 얻도록 하는 것이 목적이다.
이하, 제1도에 의거하여 본 고안을 상세히 설명하도록 하는데, 본 고안의 대부분의 구성은 종래와 유사하므로 새롭게 변형된 부분만을 설명하도록 한다.
제2도를 참조하면, 흡기다기관(4)의 일측에 일정압력차 이상에서 공기의 유량이 발생하도록 복수개의 모세관(15)을 구성한다.
그리고 상기 모세관(15)의 갯수 및 지름은 냉간시동시 필요한 공기량에서 공기보조분사 어댑터(11)를 통해 최대로 유입되는 공기량을 뺀 공기량 만큼이 공급될 수 있도록 시험을 통해서 결정한다.
이와같이 모세관(15)을 통해서 여분의 공기가 흡기다기관(4)으로 유입되는 이유는 다음과 같다. 원래 공기유입관(7) 및 공기조절밸브(8)는 냉간시동시에도 충분한 공기를 공급할 수 있도록 설계되어 있다. 그러나 어댑터(11)의 분사노즐 크기는 정상 공회전시에 최대의 유속을 갖도록 설계되었기 때문에 엔진의 회전수가 높아져도 어댑터(11)로 공급되는 공기량은 증가하지 않는다. 그러나 정상 공회전시 보다 큰 회전수를 작동하게 되면 공기부족으로 흡기다기관(4)에 더 큰 부압이 발생하게 된다. 이때 정상 공회전시에 걸리는 압력차보다 더 큰 압력차가 발생할 경우 공기유동이 발생하도록 제작된 모세관(15)을 통해 여분의 공기가 공급되는 것이다.
따라서, 종래와 다르게 복잡한 구조의 별도의 공기공급 조절장치를 설치할 필요없이 간단하게 모세관(15)을 설치하여 동일한 공기공급 효과를 얻으므로서 구성을 간단하게 할뿐만 아니라 생산비를 저감토록 하는 유용한 고안인 것이다.

  1. 공급조절밸브(8)을 통해서 공기보조분사 어댑터(11)에 공기를 공급하는 공기보조분사 시스템에 있어서, 냉각시동시와 같이 많은 공기가 필요할 경우 여분의 공기를엔진에 공급하기 위해 공기조절밸브(8) 하류 및 트로틀 밸브(3) 하류를 연결하는 복수개의 모세관(15)을 형성한 것을 특징으로 하는 모세관을 설치한 공기보조분사 시스템.
