Abstract

An air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to automatically control temperature, humidity, a wind flow rate, and a wind speed proper for users according to physical states of the users without frequent change of operation condition setting. An air conditioner includes an input part(12) for inputting data on a user as basic data for the user. A control part(1) classifies a user type according to the user data, determines a comfort zone according to the classified user type, and controls each component element of the air conditioner to satisfy the comfort zone. The user type is determined by at least one of sensitivities on temperature, humidity, wind direction and wind speed. The comfort zone is one of the temperature, humidity, wind direction and wind speed, and defined by enthalpy and temperature on a psychrometric chart.
